Regardless of the two being divorce, Jennifer Aniston's ex-husband took to Instagram to share a story in celebration of her 52nd birthday, proving that exes can be friends.
Almost two years after announcing their divorce a few days after Valentine's day in 2018, Justin Theroux showed that he still has plenty of love for his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston by posting a sweet birthday tribute for her.
Theroux took to Instagram to share a story featuring a black and white photo of the "Friends" actress in honor of turning her 52 on February 11, 2021. Aniston looked stunning as she posed for the photo.
Aniston and Theroux have given fans hope that a divorce doesn't necessarily mean the end of a friendship. Theroux has shared a birthday post for the "Morning Show" star every year.
Although the post is now an annual occurrence, this is the first year that Aniston was tagged in the post. Theroux shared his love for his stunning ex in the story, he wrote:
"Happy birthday @jenniferaniston. ❤️ you B!"
Theroux and Aniston have had a few reunions since their split. They celebrated Thanksgiving together at the "Just Go With It" actress's Los Angeles home and came together to say goodbye to their beloved dog, Dolly, in July 2019.
Theroux also spoke up against misconceptions surrounding Aniston and her divorces.
"The Leftovers" actor kickstarted his relationship with Aniston in May of 2011, and the couple announced that they were headed down the aisle in August 2012. They tied the knot three years later in Bel-Air, California.
Aniston and Theroux decided to announce that they were getting divorced to avoid speculation on the rumor mill. Their break-up was a very respectable one, allowing the actors to remain friends post-divorce.
Aniston was also married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005, and despite having split up from both Pitt and Theroux, she deemed her marriages as successful. In an interview with Elle, she elaborated saying:
"My marriages, they've been very successful, in [my] personal opinion. And when they came to an end, it was a choice that was made because we chose to be happy."
KEEPING IT AMICABLE
Theroux and Aniston have gone out of their way to ensure that they maintain their friendly relationship after their split. The divorce was drama-free, with the decision being a mutual one.
The "Maniac" actor has been actively supporting his ex-wife. Being one of the first to like and comment on her Instagram posts as a show of his support, Theroux is still one of Aniston's biggest cheerleaders.
In his first interview after the divorce, Theroux also spoke up against misconceptions surrounding Aniston and her divorces, such as her inability to remain in a stable relationship or not wanting to have children.
Theroux and Aniston have showcased that a public Hollywood divorce can be amicable and free of drama, with both parties still supporting one another as friends after the papers have been signed.
