A clip has since gone viral on social media after a little cat, FuFu, was caught on camera fighting to hold back tears while missing his owner, who went on a short trip.

Cat FuFu has become an internet sensation after a short clip of him was shared on Tik Tok. The pet cat was caught on a security camera showing emotions after being home alone.

The clip showed FuFu standing over the security camera, while his owner, Ms. Meng’s voice, seemed to come from the camera as she called out his name. FuFu looked down with his teary eye, purring and raising his paw.

While Ms. Meng called his name, FuFu showed he was missing her so much, as he looked towards the door and back at the camera, showing his sparkly eyes. Ms. Meng promised she would be back in a few days.

The story behind the cat, now known as the “left behind cat," showed that Ms. Meng had gone on a short trip to celebrate the Lunar New year with her family in a nearby town and thought it would be ideal for FuFu to stay behind.

She noted in her interview with Daily Mail that FuFu, a two-year-old British Shorthair, was shy and could have difficulties socializing at the gathering. She also added that he tended to be clingy.

Although teary eyes in cats indicate a form of illness or a blocked tear duct, FuFu’s owner insisted that he was healthy.

Before leaving for her trip, the pet keeper made sure to leave enough food and water. She also made sure to keep an eye on the surveillance camera. However, FuFu proved he needed her company more.

The touching video left Ms. Meng heart-broken, and although she planned to stay at her parents’ for a week, she shortened the trip to four days.

A follow-up video was later shared, showing her reunion with FuFu. The heartwarming video showed Ms. Meng opening her door as FuFu excitedly dashed towards her for a big warm hug.

Although teary eyes in cats indicate a form of illness or a blocked tear duct, FuFu’s owner insisted that he was healthy. She noted that her pet got teary-eyed when he was either anxious or hungry.

The adorable pet has since gathered over 250,000 comments and over 8 million likes from well-wishers who displayed their affection for the cat. FuFu is clearly one special cat.
