People Furious after Officer Seemingly Assaults K-9 Dog before Being Separated from the Animal
Many have reacted to a recent viral clip that showed a Salisbury Police Department officer seemingly assaulting a K-9. People were quite furious about such treatment.
The Salisbury Police Department (SPD) has responded to an internet uproar after one of its officers was accused of misconduct against a K-9 dog by the public. The SPD police chief, Jerry Stokes, has come out to give updates on the issue.
It happened that the K-9 was out of line for launching out of the police van and was seemingly assaulted by the officer who flung the K-9 over his shoulder and carried him off into the vehicle.

One person shared that they understood the extensive training that went into developing K-9 skills, adding that the dog had immediately obeyed after the officer shouted an instruction.

The police chief further informed the press and the public that the SPD K-9 policies were put under review to check any excesses.

Other angered users asked that the officer in question be removed and fired. Some netizens suggested the law enforcement officer should undergo a psych evaluation as he could pose a greater threat to humans.
Stokes, in his press release, noted that SPD was quite thorough about the wellbeing of their officers and K-9. He reassured that the K-9 was doing fine while the content of the assault video was being reviewed.

The SPD officer added that the public should exercise patience while the investigation keeps going underway. He also assured that no tasers or other equipment were used on the dog.
Stokes, in his address, noted that the unnamed officer might have well been within his rights to correct the erring K-9, known as Zuul. However, an outside agency was also looking into the issue.
The police chief further informed the press and the public that the SPD K-9 policies were put under review to check any excesses and provide a better rapport between K-9s and their handlers.
Last month, news got out that a Chihuahua puppy put up a brave front after she experienced a fire incident. The dog and its owner were left homeless after a fire gutted their home at River North Village in Michigan.
The dog owner, Dino Rasera, shared that he lost all his belongings in the fire but was more concerned about the safety of his dog. Two weeks later, Marble was found around the debris. It was believed that the pet endured the cold for two weeks.
