WHAT MORGAN SAID
On Monday’s episode of “Good Morning Britain,” Morgan questioned the legitimacy of Markle’s claims that she did not receive help from the royal family when she reached out about her suicidal thoughts. He said:
"What did they say to you? I'm sorry, I don't believe a word she said, Meghan Markle. I wouldn't believe it if she read me a weather report."
He added her apparent “onslaught” of the royal family was “contemptible.” On Tuesday, he continued and said he had concerns about the veracity of what the duchess had said.

WHAT MARKLE REVEALED IN THE INTERVIEW
During the two-hour CBS interview, Markle had revealed that she struggled with suicidal thoughts when she was pregnant with Archie and while the family was living at Kensington Palace.
Alex Beresford criticized Morgan for continuing to talk trash about Markle, who apparently had cut Morgan off in the past.
She shared with Winfrey that senior Buckingham palace officials rejected her plea for help. Morgan questioned the legitimacy of these particular claims.

THE COMPLAINTS
ITV, the network of Morgan’s show, received 41,000 complaints about Morgan and his remarks about Markle and her CBS interview with Winfrey. Markle filed a complaint, CNN reported:
“Meghan's complaint to ITV concerned the impact Morgan's comments could have on others and how it could degrade the seriousness of mental health issues.”
It seems Markle's complaint was not about Morgan’s personal attack towards her, but rather about the implications his words might have on others who are struggling with mental health issues.

THE FALLOUT
ITV announced that Morgan had decided that it was a “good time” to leave “Good Morning Britain” and that the network accepted his decision and would not comment further.
His decision to leave the show comes after his colleague weather reporter, Alex Beresford, criticized Morgan for continuing to talk trash about Markle, who apparently had cut Morgan off in the past.
On Monday, I said I didn’t believe Meghan Markle in her Oprah interview. I’ve had time to reflect on this opinion, and I still don’t. If you did, OK. Freedom of speech is a hill I’m happy to die on. Thanks for all the love, and hate. I’m off to spend more time with my opinions. pic.twitter.com/bv6zpz4Roe

During Beresford’s confrontation, Morgan had stormed off the set, so he did not have to face criticism. ITV later stated that he had chosen to leave the show.
Morgan was not done sharing his opinion as he later shared a tweet that said after some reflection on his previous comments, he still did not believe the duchess.
