Story of the Day: Woman Is Livid after Her Husband Changes Niece's Diaper on a Restaurant Table

What Crystal thought would be a romantic dinner with her husband turned out to be the most embarrassing experience after he displayed awful dinner table etiquette at a fancy restaurant. Read on to find out what happened.

Crystal and her husband, David, have been married for a little over a year, but their honeymoon phase was short-lived because of their busy lives and demanding jobs. They also often take on the responsibility of babysitting David's niece, Jenna.

Jenna is the most adorable baby, only 14months old, with big curious eyes and an endearing smile. Both David and Crystal are besotted with her and love babysitting whenever they get the chance.

Perhaps it's because, for medical reasons, Crystal and David cannot have children of their own, and while they plan to adopt later, Jenna is all they have. For this reason, David is wholly devoted to the toddler and treats her like his own.

David was sitting there in the restaurant cradling Jenna as other restaurant patrons looked on in disbelief.

Crystal and David had been busy for months when she suggested they go out for a romantic dinner, just the two of them, to revamp their romance which had suffered a lull over time.

David agreed, and Crystal excitedly made the arrangements. She looked up the fanciest restaurant in the area and made a reservation. During the days preceding the date night, she even bought a new dress. Friday night couldn't come fast enough.

When the day came, Crystal left work early and rushed home to get dressed. David would already be at the restaurant waiting for her. However, when she arrived, she was shocked to find that he wasn't alone.

David was sitting there in the restaurant cradling Jenna as other restaurant patrons looked on in disbelief. Crystal was angry and couldn't understand why David had brought his niece on their date.

David explained that he offered to babysit because his sister, Mary-Anne, was attending a birthday party. She is a single mom so he thought she deserved the night out more than they did.

As [Crystal] walked back to the table, she heard David arguing with someone, and then she smelled a vile odor.

Crystal was furious but she decided to make the most of the evening, despite the annoyed stares from the restaurant staff. This wasn't a child-friendly restaurant and a crying baby would ruin the ambiance for everyone else.

Just as expected of any baby, Jenna started fussing and crying. Crystal stood up and went to the bathroom to catch a break. As she walked back to the table, she heard David arguing with someone, and then she smelled a vile odor.

David was zealously changing Jenna's diaper on the restaurant table while the waiter told him that was unacceptable. David insisted he just needed a minute and continued, despite knowing that it was inappropriate behavior.

Eventually, the restaurant manager called Crystal and told her that they had to leave. She was so embarrassed and apologized on behalf of her husband, and the trio left in silence.

When they got to the parking lot, Crystal couldn't contain her anger. She yelled at David and told him how humiliated she was but he showed no remorse and accused her of picking a bad restaurant.

Crystal reiterated that she thought this was an adult dinner for two otherwise she would've picked a child-friendly restaurant. After the argument, she refused to get in the car and took an Uber home instead.
