CHOOSING THE NAME

Princess Eugenie and her husband didn't immediately release their first child's name but eventually let the public in on their choice, which honors 99-year-old Prince Philip.

30-year-old Princess Eugenie revealed that they chose Philip as their son's middle name as a tribute to her grandfather whilst he was admitted to hospital after feeling unwell. The royal shared:

" Thinking of my grandfather, we are introducing our little boy. He is named after his great grandfather and both of his great x5 grandfathers."

CLOSE TO THE GRANDPARENTS

The new parents and their firstborn have been living in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Windsor home, Frogmore Cottage, close to Windsor Castle, where Queen Elizabeth has been residing during the pandemic.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex lent Princess Eugenie and her family their home when they left England for Canada before moving to the United States of America.
