Star comedian Trevor Noah might have made history at the 63rd Grammy Awards ceremony as he gave the fastest monologue ever while also taking a dig at the British Royal household.

Noah, 37, gave updates about the half-indoor, half-outdoor Grammy ceremony, as well as the COVID-19 precautions put in place. However, he noted that the outdoor tent was full of Grammy nominees.

To this effect, the annual award ceremony host joked that there was probably more tension inside the tent than there would be at a reunion in Buckingham Palace.

Noah’s words alluded to the recent viral interview that Oprah Winfrey had with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle. He also referred to the Grammys as the most prominent event besides the storming of the U.S. Capitol.

Noah’s opening speech drew mixed reactions from fans as some thought his comments were unnecessary and unacceptable. Others, however, commended him for being witty.

Before his Grammy appearance, the “The Daily Show” host noted that he was there to do music and not politics. Other highlights at the Grammy Awards saw different stars like Dua Lipa, DaBaby, Megan Thee Stallion, and Cardi B grace the occasion.

Stars like H.E.R. paid tribute to the summer protests against police issues. She won the “Song of the Year” award for “I Can’t Breathe.” The song was dedicated to the dying words of Eric Garner.

While Noah’s showbiz life is thriving and could somewhat come off controversial because of his sharp-wits, his romantic life stays private. So far, many are wondering if he and actress Minka Kelly have gone official.

The “Friday Night Lights” actress and Noah were said to have started their romance last August. Kelly, 40, previously dated stars like Derek Jeter, Jesse Williams, and Chris Evans.
