Steve Austin and Dwayne Johnson — the WWE Icons' Friendship Revisited
Dwyane Johnson, popularly known as "The Rock," has enjoyed a lifelong friendship with fellow WWE star Steve Austin, otherwise referred to as "Stone Cold" in the wrestling world.
When Johnson started out as a professional wrestler, he looked up to Austin, who was already gaining popularity among wrestling lovers as at then.

Johnson reportedly once recalled how he used to observe Austin's behavior and skills, adding that he wanted to be just like him at the time.
Like Austin, Johnson stood established his presence in wrestling, and soon enough, it became apparent that the two were similar in a lot of ways.
When a new WWE era emerged in 1997, Austin and Johnson were pit against each other as they both started competing for the top spot in wrestling.
However, despite wanting the same thing, Johnson noted that the intense competition that later erupted between him and Austin was born out of love and respect for each other.
He described their chemistry as a special thing to feel, adding that at a point, they somehow always knew what the other person would do or the step he would take.
With the duo's amazing friendship and bond, it, therefore, came as no surprise when in 2003, Austin picked Johnson to be his opponent for the final match of his career.
At the time, not many people knew Austin was planning to retire, so when Johnson heard the news, he was saddled with the responsibility of hiding his emotions. But not for long.
Johnson eventually won the match, and right after, he told Austin he loved him and thanked him for all he had done for him. Now even years after their last match together, the duo still have much love and respect for each other.
Austin reportedly described their friendship as a forever type of thing, explaining that even though he and Johnson don't have the same circle of friends, they still have a great connection whenever they see.
Today, Johnson remains ever grateful for his and Austin's friendship, noting that the latter's decision to take him under his wing ultimately changed his life.
Now doubling as a movie actor and producer, Johnson has evidently enjoyed a successful run in his career, and he has Austin to thank for a lot of that!
