On July 24, 2025, a 911 call alerting of a cardiac arrest at the Clearwater, Florida, home of WWE legend Hulk Hogan launched an urgent medical response involving multiple rescue units. According to police, crews arrived within minutes and spent over 30 minutes on the scene trying to assist the 71-year-old icon.

In the audio obtained by TMZ, an operator is heard dispatching first responders using specialized lingo. "Bravo. Rescue 46, LR45, engine 46, cardiac arrest. Rescue 46, LR45, engine 46, fire attack bravo," the man said.

A censoring bleep interrupts him for a few seconds, possibly protecting names and other sensitive information, before the message is repeated.

A request for police support followed shortly after, with officers arriving on the scene at 10:23 a.m. According to exclusive details obtained by People, the medics were still performing CPR at 10:28 a.m., while also "working on getting him out to the ambulance."

Medics loaded Hulk onto an ambulance stretcher at 10:32 a.m., but he was pronounced dead at Morton Plant Hospital at 11:17 a.m.

During a press conference that afternoon, authorities stated that they'd begun a "death investigation," but clarified that it's "standard" procedure. There were no signs of anything suspicious.

As the world learned about this tragedy, tributes poured in. Retired legendary wrestler, Ric Flair, took to social media that same day to express how shocked he was.

"Hulk Has Been By My Side Since We Started In The Wrestling Business. An Incredible Athlete, Talent, Friend, And Father [sic]!" he wrote. "Our Friendship Has Meant The World To Me. He Was Always There For Me Even When I Didn't Ask For Him To Be [sic]."

Ric went on to explain that Hulk visited him in the hospital when he almost died and even lent him money when his son, Reid Flair, was sick. "Hulkster, No One Will Ever Compare To You! Rest In Peace My Friend! 🙏🏻," the wrestler finished.
