Mama June Shannon is reportedly in recovery after a severe battle with her drug addiction that almost cost her a million dollars. The reality star revealed that she is 14 months sober.

Mama June Shannon is fighting the battle against drug addiction and is reportedly doing well. In an exclusive interview with US Weekly, the reality star revealed that she is in recovery and has gotten clean.

While promoting her new WE tv series “Mama June: Road to Redemption,” the 41-year-old reflected on the harmful lifestyle that led to her headline-making arrest in March 2019 alongside her boyfriend, Geno Doak.

Mama June, who claimed to be 14 months sober, confessed to spending most of her savings to fuel her drug addiction problem. Getting candid about how the addiction ate into her finances, she said:

“I spent, like, $750K. I had a lot of money saved up because that’s just me. I’m just a frugal type of person. You gotta think about it, like, literally since 2000 into 2017.”

She noted that she and Doak’s drug habit started with taking one gram a day which cost about $100. However, it soon escalated to spending between $2,400 to $3,000 daily depending on what city they found themselves in.

Mama June rose to fame in 2011 in the reality series “Toddlers and Tiaras.”

The Shannon family matriarch said that the estimated amount spent would be about $1.5 million, including the recent years. She explained that fans didn’t realize she had a problem because she remained functional through it all.

Now, the Georgia native is putting her past behind and is focused on fixing her relationship with her family, which was strained following her arrest. She also wants to rebuild her finances, as she entered rehab with just $1.75 in her name.

Her new show “Mama June: Road to Redemption” focuses on her sobriety journey as she tries to regain trust from her daughters and work on her relationship with Doak, who would also join her to become sober.

Mama June rose to fame in 2011 in the reality series “Toddlers and Tiaras,” where she starred alongside her daughter Alana “Honey Boo Boo.” Their performance led to the famous spinoff, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.”

The mother-daughter duo has starred in spinoffs like “Mama June: From Not to Hot.” Mama June has three other daughters, Anna ‘Chickadee’ Shannon, Jessica ‘Chubbs’ Shannon, and Laryn ‘Pumpkin’ Shannon. All four kids are from different fathers.
