No arrests have been made following the incident, and police are reportedly offering a cash reward for any tips that lead to an arrest. Birmingham Police Sgt. Rod Mauldin was adamant that someone saw what happened on that day.
"This park was full of people, full of families, and we know people saw things," he said. Maudlin added that no matter how big or small the intel is, it is valuable to them.
Witnesses are urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777 if they have any information that can assist the police department with their investigation.

While the incident appeared to be random based on no link between the victims, another shooting incident at the Orange, California, business complex is the opposite.
According to CNN, the suspect in the mass shooting reportedly knew the victims. The shooting occurred recently whereby four people were killed, including a nine-year-old boy.

Orange Police Department spokesperson Lt. Jennifer Amat revealed that the suspect had professional and personal relationships with the victims. Amat also revealed that it was not a random act of violence.
She did not disclose the victims' identities at the time because they had not completed notifications of the next of kin. Upon the police arrival on the scene, they engaged in fire shots which left the suspect injured.
Identified as 44-year-old Aminadab Gaxiola Gonzalez, the suspect is at a local hospital in a critical but stable condition. A fifth victim, a woman, was also taken to the hospital, where she is also in the same condition as the shooter.
