A news outlet confirmed that the shooting location was an Airbnb property that was being rented for the birthday party. A fight broke out outside the house, and gunfire followed.

The infant's 3-year-old brother got a hold of a firearm and shot his younger sibling.

CBS4 also reported that LaFrance and the 21-year-old woman that was shot were both discovered outside the property when the authorities arrived on the scene a little later.

DISTRAUGHT FAMILY

In the wake of the three-year-old's premature death, his family members are left distraught. Adrian Annestor, LaFrance's uncle, spoke out about the loss of his nephew, saying:

“I wish it could have been me because I’ve lived long enough. He couldn’t even say mom and dad.”

A neighbor who witnessed the entire ordeal explained that a white vehicle pulled up to the birthday party and pulled out a machine gun before firing multiple shots. The neighbor said it sounded like more than 30 shots were fired.

ANOTHER TRAGIC SHOOTING

A Houston family is also mourning the loss of their baby. The infant's three-year-old brother got a hold of a firearm and shot his younger sibling. The little boy was only eight months old.

The shooting occurred inside the family's apartment. Several adults piled into the car with the injured baby and transported him to the hospital, but he did not survive the gunshot wound.

The eight-month-old was reportedly shot in the abdomen. Houston assistant police chief Wendy Baimbridge pleaded with families to ensure that the weapons in their homes are secure and out of reach from their children.

Following the shooting, the authorities were initially unable to find the weapon that killed the baby but later discovered it in the vehicle used to transport him to the hospital. It is not clear whether any charges will be pressed.
