Get to Know Sophia Di Martino Who Was 9 Months Pregnant When She Was Cast in 'Loki'

Actress Sophia was cast in the Disney+ series "Loki" in November 2019 when she was nine months pregnant. Find out who the actress is.


Born on November 15, 1983, Sophia Di Martino is an English actress who is best known for her roles in the 2004 British television series "Holby City," Channel 4's "Flowers," and the British medical drama series "Casualty."

She also landed a role in the British medical soap opera "The Royal Today." Sophia Di Martino's "Yesterday" performance is also one of her best.

The Nottinghamshire-born 37-year-old obtained an A-Level degree in Performing Arts at the University of Salford. The actress also graduated with a Bachelor's degree with honors in Media and Performance.


In November 2019, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were pleasantly surprised to discover that the new Disney+ series "Loki" would come with quite a lot of easter eggs, including an unfamiliar face in the form of Di Martino.


Early that month, it was reported that the English actress was going to star alongside Loki actor Tom Hiddleston and although her role was not yet certain, fans were still excited. Di Martino eventually beat many other high-profile actors to take the role.

The new series chronicles Hiddleston's character, Loki, as he chases down an initially unknown variant of himself, causing havoc.

The "Loki" actress could not contain her excitement during a press launch for the movie; she revealed she was nine months pregnant when she found out about landing the role.


Di Martino admitted that she almost did not believe it. This June, the star posted a throwback snap from her early days of working in the Marvel Studios stunt gym. She wrote on Instagram:

"#tbt Feb 2020 in the @marvelstudios stunt gym. The very beginning of my @officialloki journey and 4 months postpartum! Hopeful, naive, and VERY unfit!"



When "Loki" was finally released early this June, fans were at the edge of their seats for many reasons. One of those being the long-awaited reveal of Di Martino's character.

The new series chronicles Hiddleston's character, Loki, as he chases down an initially unknown variant of himself, causing havoc.

When the variant was finally revealed, it was none other than Di Martino herself playing a variant of the god of mischief, aptly named Lady Loki. Fans can be sure to expect more of the actress's excellent acting skills.
