Ree Drummond Looks Slim in New Pic As She Takes a 'Marital Vacation' with Husband Ladd
Ree Drummond’s fans were glad to see her slimmer figure in a recent Instagram post taken during her "marital vacation." Initially, they postponed due to her husband's life-threatening accident. Read on and see how she lost over 40 pounds.
It’s been a very challenging year for Ree Drummond, her husband Ladd Drummond, and the rest of the family, but her recent Instagram post proves that things are slowly getting back to normal.
Ladd made headlines in March after getting involved in a crash with his nephew Caleb a few miles away from the family ranch that left them in dire condition.
After a fire broke near the Drummonds farm in Osage County, Oklahoma, Ladd, and Caleb knew they needed to do something, so each hopped in a Himmat Fire Truck.
Caleb, 21, drove southbound on Country Road N3660, while Ladd, 57, was driving northbound. Unfortunately, the high winds on the gravel road decreased visibility. As a result, the trucks hit one another “head-on.”
Given that neither Ladd nor Caleb wore seatbelts, they sustained some severe injuries. They were both rushed to the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Caleb apparently had it worse as he was admitted in critical condition with injuries in his head, leg, arm, and internal organs. On the other hand, Ladd needed surgery for his broken neck.
Hours after the accident, Ree wrote on Facebook that Ladd and Caleb would “both be okay,” fortunately. Since then, the Pioneer Woman has been sharing updates on her husband. In May, for example, Ree revealed Ladd attended their daughter’s wedding.
If having him present in such an important moment after a life-threatening accident wasn’t good enough, he didn’t even wear his neck brace while walking his daughter down the aisle. Ree wrote on her blog:
“The fact that [Ladd and Caleb] were both able not only to be at Alex's wedding, but to also be pretty much healed and able to enjoy themselves, was a total gift!”
Four months after the accident, Ree and Ladd went to Colorado for what she described as a “marital vacation.” She celebrated their well-deserved getaway by posting a photo on Instagram.
She would either walk 2-3 miles, use the rowing machine, or do a “floor version” of Pilates.
Ree and Ladd appeared wearing long-sleeved black shirts and flashing theirs smiles at the camera in the image. In the caption, she confessed that they had initially planned to go to Colorado earlier this year, but the accident made it impossible.
Ree also admitted to being “over the moon happy” about their time together but joked that she wouldn’t be too thrilled if Ladd made her hike up the Berry Picker trail.
One of the aspects of the image that attracted more attention was her slim figure. Some of her followers wrote in the comment section that she looked “amazing,” “healthy,” “happy,” and even labeled her as a “hot mama.”
Back in June, Ree revealed on her blog what she has been doing during the last few months to shed some pounds. She admitted that being skinny was not her goal. Instead, she wanted to feel better and have more energy.
Fortunately, she lost 43 pounds by eating fewer calories and more protein, weighing the food she ate, exercising, building muscle, and doing other activities.
As per what exercise she did, it was not something too extreme: she would either walk 2-3 miles, use the rowing machine, or do a “floor version” of Pilates. She did it six times a week, and it definitely paid off! Ree also reduced her sugar intake and didn’t drink alcohol for “over four months.”
The Pioneer Woman is not the only celebrity who has lost weight lately. Actress Rebel Wilson, who shed 60 pounds, has been candid about her weight-loss journey for over a year already.
