NOT FOR EVERYONE

The taste might not be for everyone. While the hashtag "#FrozenHoney" garnered close to 600 million views, many people have cautioned users about this summer treat.

Despite changing up the recipe, one thing remained the same—people still spoke about the adverse consequences of this new trend.

While netizens recommend the unique treat, they also indicated that it is "really sweet." Consequently, people that don't have a sweet tooth should consider if this would be something they would enjoy.

HARD ON YOUR TEETH

In addition, Mark Wolff, DDS, Ph.D., Dean of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, stated: "Any time you harden something, you run the risk of breaking your teeth."

A commenter experienced this and shared their unsuccessful attempt at making frozen honey. They said:

"I tried to make this recipe, but it was too difficult, and I wished I had read the doctor’s warning about the teeth, it would have saved me a trip to the dentist."

Netizens have also been spicing things up and experimenting with the frozen honey TikTok trend. Users added corn syrup to take away some of the honey's density, while others chose to put some candy in the mix.

Despite changing up the recipe, one thing remained the same—people still spoke about the adverse consequences of this new trend. One TikToker captioned her frozen honey video: "[Be right back] gotta go get my stomach pumped."

HONEY IN MODERATION

The problems related to the recipe were linked to the consumption of honey. Kristin Kirkpatrick, a registered dietitian, expressed that honey was not the issue. She shared that a small amount of the sweet substance is perfectly fine.

In fact, there are actually many benefits to adding some honey to your diet. It can help heal wounds, has antibacterial properties, and can soothe a dry or scratchy throat. When used in moderation, this sweet ingredient is of no concern.
