A man aspired to work in a highly successful and reputed multinational firm. For this purpose, he worked with due diligence day in and day out to pass the organization's tough assessment.
He wanted to qualify for his desired job position at any cost, so he even tried contacting the company's employees for assistance. Unfortunately, none of them were considerate enough to lend him any support.

To his complete dismay, the firm had a centralized culture, and the top-most management was reluctant to share any piece of information with non-staff members. Until now, he had failed to qualify for the job.
The man had an impressive educational background, relevant skill-set, and related experience in the field, and his expertise matched the job requirements. Still, he couldn't decipher why he never got selected, despite being a great fit.
After applying for the job numerous times and returning back home without landing it or any proper feedback, he decided to confront the HR department and get answers.
So the very next day, he asked the management to give him one good reason why they didn't select him. After repeating himself several times, he was told that the company preferred married men for the job post.

The man came home, but he was in total shock. He couldn't understand why such a big firm had an absurd policy of hiring married men. He kept thinking about a plausible explanation, but couldn't come up with anything.
Some time passed and after a few months, he boarded a plane from New York to Chicago to meet his friend. To his surprise, the company's CEO was on the same flight, and he sat in the seat right next to him.
The man saw it as a stroke of luck and the perfect opportunity to ask him about his firm's stringent policies.
"Hello," said the man. "Can I ask you a question if you don't mind?"
“Sure, go ahead,” replied the CEO, a bit startled by him.

“I heard that your company only hires married men. Why is that?” asked the man, a little hesitant but hoping for a satisfactory response.
“Well, that’s because married men have the capacity to endure harsh behavior and they’re never in a hurry to go home early,” replied the CEO.
We often see situations where it's much harder for a woman to find a job if she's married. But there are situations to the contrary, and clearly, the poor man didn't see this one coming!
