Jon Gosselin & Colleen Conrad Split After 7 Years Together Just Days After She Revealed Her Single Mastectomy

In what they are terming "a natural end," the "Jon & Kate Plus 8" star Jon Gosselin and his girlfriend of seven years, Colleen Conrad, have dissolved their relationship. All this while Conrad is dealing with a serious health issue.

44-year-old Jon Gosselin of the famous TLC reality TV show "Jon & Kate Plus 8" has announced that he and his girlfriend, Colleen Conrad, are splitting amid Conrad's cancer treatment.

Jon was quick to note that their split was not a result of Conrad's ongoing fight with breast cancer and insists that he will continue to support her through her illness.

Their relationship, which has lasted the last seven years, seems to have started deteriorating at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic last year. Despite trying to work things out, they couldn't iron out differences.

The couple split severally and even tried to work out their relationship with a couple's therapist, but they were far too gone. Jon says that it is upsetting to split after years together but continues to say:

"I still love and care for Colleen but we've both determined that it’s the natural end.”

Conrad gave a lengthy description of how she came to discover she had a cancerous mass on her right breast, having undergone a mammogram earlier on.

She says it was discovered she had stage 2 cancer, and in July, she underwent a mastectomy on her right breast, and her doctors were able to downgrade it to stage 1.

She is thankful that it was caught early and encourages others to do self-examinations, saying that if it requires one to set a monthly alarm to help them remember, they should do it.

It seemed between allegations of cheating from both parties, there was no saving the marriage.

Conrad went ahead to thank those who had stood by her through the trying times. During this, fans noticed that the 51-year-old did not mention her boyfriend, which seemed to hint at their not being together anymore.

Conrad and Jon started dating in 2014 when they ran into each other and reconnected after years of not seeing each other. Conrad is a mother of two, Jesse and Jordan, from a previous relationship.

And she did more than steal Jon's heart. One of Jons children, Collin, referred to Conrad as one of his best friends and made an emotional tribute to Conrad, which according to DailyMail, said in part:

"I could call it Mother's Day, but it's more than that, Colleen, you are so much more than a mother to me, you are one of my guidelines and one of my guiding lights."

Conrad has met all of Jon's kids and lives with two of them, Hannah and Collin. Jon obtained full custody of the two after they expressed their discomfort living with their mother, Kate Gosselin.

Jon says Kate was abusing the kids emotionally, claims that have not been officially confirmed. Their woes began as early as 2007, but when 2009 was coming around, their relationship plummeted further.

Kate filed for divorce in June of 2009, saying Jon's behavior left her no choice but to seek legal intervention for the sake of her children. It seemed between allegations of cheating from both parties; there was no saving the marriage.
