After 7 Years in Remission, 10-Year-Old Girl Is Diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer and All Her Friends Decide to Help
A ten-year-old girl called “Marvelous Maddie” by her friends and family has the whole community supporting her as she battles through cancer for the second time.
As a child, surprises are often looked forward to, but not in the case of an Idaho resident. Sadly, the ten-year-old girl known among her family and friends as “Marvelous Maddie” was shocked to learn her cancer returned after seven years.
In April 2021, Maddie was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. According to her Go Fund Me page, “a Wilms tumor returned on her left kidney which spread up her inferior vena-cava and has also metastasized to her liver.”

Despite the diagnosis, Maddie’s family and friends are optimistic she would win the battle and are helping her family raise funds for treatment.
One of her North Star Charter School classmates, Jerrod Newburn, hosted a bake sale for Maddie and hoped to raise a significant amount of money. He said:
“If I could, to be honest, a million dollars. But like mom said, if we sell out, it will be a thousand dollars toward her family.”

Jerrod hopes that his classmate will get better, especially with the money they raise. His mother, Jessica Newburn, is also in full support of Maddie’s battle and hopes more people would come together for her. She shared:
“Hoping the community can rally around this family and show them they’re not in this alone, and we care and, we love Maddie, and we think they’re amazing people.”
The bake sale will be on August 24, 2021, at North Star Charter School between 4:30 to 5:30 pm. A GoFundMe page has since been launched for Maddie. As of writing, they have raised nearly $4,000 out of their $10,000 goal.

The page’s update says that Maddie spent three weeks in the hospital and began an intense chemotherapy program to stop the spread of the cancer.
Fans have since offered prayers and support to Moore through social media and believe she will get through such trying times.
Recently, the brave ten-year-old underwent a 13-hour surgery to remove a seven-inch tumor on her left kidney and half of her liver.

“Through all of this, Maddie has continued to smile and keep a positive attitude. She has definitely had some really hard days, but she has been so incredibly strong and we are all proud of her,” the page stated.
Cancer is undoubtedly one of the most brutal battles to beat as it comes when a person least expects it. Recently, Atlanta TV anchor Jovita Moore was diagnosed with brain cancer after experiencing sudden headaches and disorientation.
The television personality underwent brain surgery and hoped to return to work ten weeks later. Sadly, the tumors turned out to be glioblastoma.
Fans have since offered prayers and support to Moore through social media and believe she will get through such trying times.
