Daily Joke: Man Tries Long Distance Relationship With His Girlfriend

There was once a man who would often visit a local bar, either with his friends or his girlfriend. He was generally occupied with work during the weekdays, but he always made sure to hit the bar on weekends for a few drinks.

He wasn't quite fond of drinking, but loved the ambiance inside the bar, and thought the place offered him a respite from his tiring work routine. Over time, he had become a regular customer at the bar, and everyone from the bartender to the barman recognized him.

They knew him so well that he was one of the chosen few customers who always received the finest drink in the bar. He had suggested the place to many of his friends and colleagues and often held after-work parties there. No wonder, he was their favorite customer.

While the man was welcome in the bar any time of the day, he would often visit with his girlfriend. Over time, everyone in the bar had become used to seeing the two of them together and always offered them their special drinks at discounted rates.

The man's girlfriend was a cheerful, lively, and gorgeous young woman and he loved her very much. She was a banker by profession, and her ambitious nature made her even more attractive. He was head over heels in love with her.

Any time he showed up at the bar without his girlfriend, everyone including the barman and bartenders became concerned.

"I hope all is well at your end, Sir. Did you two have a fight?" asked the bartender one day.

"Oh, there's nothing to worry about. All is good. She's working overtime and will make it up to me soon. See, I brought my friend," replied the man, pointing to a guy standing next to him.

In other words, the man never showed up alone at the bar, until one night when he walked inside with a broody expression on his face. As soon as he sat down, the bartender offered him his favorite beer and asked,

"All alone tonight? Where's your girlfriend?"

"My girlfriend and I are trying this whole 'long-distance relationship thing'," the man told the bartender.

"Well, that can be hard," replied the bartender.

"You're telling me. I have to stay 100 feet away from her at all times," said the man. "And the police say I should stop referring to her as my girlfriend, too."

Clearly, the man was living a completely different kind of long-distance relationship with his girlfriend!
