True enough, Twitter users seem unprepared for Coughlan's announcement. After watching the clip, a fan expressed excitement about the upcoming series, writing that the second season might be even better than the first one.

She recently revealed she wanted to quit acting, but then "Bridgerton" came along.

The series, set during the Regency Era in London, was inspired by Julia Quinn's best-selling novels of the same title. Another fan expressed hope that the new season will be as "spicy" as the book.

During the 2021 Emmys, the critically-acclaimed drama series won its first award for Outstanding Period and/or Character Hairstyling. The hit show scored 12 Emmy nominations last year.

In both her "Derry Girls" role and the period drama, Coughlan seems to have hit the jackpot. Her parents once encouraged her to pursue teaching when she was struggling with her acting career.
