George W Bush Shares Moment He and His Wife Laura Bush Met Their Newborn Granddaughter

George W. Bush and his lovely spouse Laura Bush are proud grandparents as they recently welcomed another addition into the Bush family, their daughter Barbara Bush’s first baby.

Former US president George W. Bush and his wife, former First Lady Laura Bush, announced the arrival of their new grandchild recently.

The couple shared their first picture with their infant granddaughter named Cora Georgia Coyne, who was born on September 27, 2021.

PRIDE & JOY

The image showed George, 75, cradling his grandchild, wrapped up in a blanket wearing a purple striped beanie with a bow feature.

The little one appeared to have been fast asleep on the captured adorable photo with her grandparents, who beamed with pride posing with her.

Grandmother Laura was featured in the background and was seated behind granddad George. In their post, the couple wrote baby Cora was born healthy and adorable.

Followers in the comments section sent their good wishes to the pair extending them to Cora’s parents Barbara and Craig Coyne, who got married in 2019.

One person wrote, “Congratulations to Barbara and Craig but also to the proud grandparents of baby Cora. You’re both beaming with pride,” alongside a red heart emoji.

Laura, 74, also reshared the post on her Instagram on Saturday, October 2. On Thursday, Barbara’s fraternal twin sister Jenna Bush Hager disclosed on "Today with Hoda & Jenna" that after her water broke six weeks early, she gave birth at the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital in Portland, Maine.

The 39-year-old journalist said Barbara, also 39 years old, gave birth at the hospital named after their grandmother, her namesake.

NAME SIGNIFICANCE

According to People, in addition to the significance of names, her cousin Wendy Wear Stapleton revealed the duo named their daughter Cora Coyne because Barbara likes the alliteration.

Regarding her middle name, the little one was named after her grandfather and great-grandfather. Aunt Jenna also celebrated her arrival and posted images of the newborn last week during her first meeting with her niece in the hospital.

FEELING GUILTY

The newest addition to the family joins her cousins, Jenna’s three kids Mila, 8, Poppy, 6, and Henry, 2, whom she shares with husband Henry Hager.

Jenna previously talked about her feelings on getting pregnant while her sister was trying to conceive, stating she felt a sense of guilt. She once shared that infertility runs in their family but that their mom reassured them that every woman gets pregnant in her own time.
