A Redditor who lost his wife unlocked her phone and checked some photos to reminisce their memories. He accidentally found some intimate pics of her in a stranger's house and was shocked when he recognized the man.

The Redditor and his wife were married for ten years and planned to raise a family. Everything seemed to fall in a perfect place. His wife was happy in their marriage and always mentioned how proud she was of him.

Her tragic death left the Original Poster (OP) reeling. A few days later, he unlocked her phone to see their photos and was startled to see pictures of her with another man.

The pictures had OP's wife in a strange house he hadn't seen before. However, these pictures brought some disturbing details about her affair to light. OP explained:

“I continued scrolling down and seen the most heart-wrenching thing I have ever seen. Which was her with another man, it was nothing [expletive], but they were in a place that was obviously his.”

He began reading their texts, starting with his wife's most recent message to her secret boyfriend. OP was shaken as her last message read: "I'm on my way." She'd sent this to her boyfriend three hours before the accident.

OP was now aware that this guy was the last person to have seen his wife. He felt his wife would've been alive had she not gone to visit him. He added:

“I feel like I’m going through a death of a loved one and a breakup at the same time. She did this behind my back and will never know that I found out.”

Apart from his wife's texts and Facebook messages, OP found more clues about her infidelity and eventually found out that her best friend had encouraged her to have this affair instead of advising her against it.

OP was enraged because he'd known his wife's best friend for a long time. He claimed she was a nice person, but she played an essential and pivotal role in his wife's affair.

OP felt sick and humiliated in his moment of grief and wondered if his wife’s coworkers knew about her affair.

He read their texts in which his wife explained she was hooking up with the stranger after dinner. A few days later, he figured out more shocking details while recalling his wife's funeral.

OP noticed his wife's best friend talking to a coworker. He was confused because it was strange for her to know them, he explained:

“This was a friend from high school and there was no reason she should have known any of her coworkers.”

His wife's friend hugged OP, and then the guy she talked to shook hands with him. The man was the person OP's wife had been having an affair with. OP felt sick and humiliated in his moment of grief and wondered if his wife's coworkers knew about her affair.

After reading his post, several users shared their condolences with OP. Some said they had a similar experience, and a user named stellaflora commented:

“I had a similar experience. When someone dies suddenly, and then evidence starts coming out... very upsetting and tragic, especially if you trusted the person fully and have no way to confront them about it. Heartbreaking. Hugs to you and the OP.”

Soranos_71 said that if he were in OP's shoes, he would confront the people who encouraged his wife to have an affair, and added: "It would eat me up from the inside knowing what you know and the others thinking they got away with it."

OP later claimed his wife's best friend reached out to him and apologized for supporting her affair. His wife left him alone twice, once in grief and once in betrayal. He eventually decided to move on after reading all her texts.
