Jada Pinkett Smith first opened up about her hair loss journey in May 2018 on “Red Table Talk” in an episode called "Body Confessions!" Jada revealed that she had been getting questions about why she started wearing turbans and explained why:

"Well, I've been having issues with hair loss. And it was terrifying when it first started. I was in the shower one day, and then just hand-fills of hair in my hands, and I was like, 'Oh my God, am I going bald?'"

That same year, Jada debuted a dramatic haircut of her 1989 edgy asymmetrical bob and showed it off in a bathroom selfie on her Instagram.

The hairstyle featured her hair flip on one side of her head and her husband Will Smith, 53, loved it so much that he could not stop showing it off to his Instagram followers.
