UNDERWOOD AND FISHER'S LOVE STORY
Underwood and Fisher's love story can easily be described as a fairytale romance. The couple met backstage at one of her concerts in 2008.
At that time, Underwood was not looking for a long-distance relationship or marriage. Thus, when her bassist, Mark Childers, offered to introduce her to his friend and National HHL star, Fisher, who lived far away, she thought the meeting would be awkward.
Hence, she suggested that Fisher should meet her backstage during the concert. Although their first meeting was casual, Underwood and Fisher had remarkable physical chemistry.
She texted Childers afterward, gushing over how "hot" Fisher was. Fisher also felt Underwood was more beautiful in person than on television.
Three months after their first meeting, Fisher and Underwood met again. They could not meet before then because of their demanding careers and the long distance between them.
However, they talked regularly on the phone. On New Year's Eve 2008, they had their first date and shared their first kiss in public in front of people.
The couple had a whirlwind romance and got engaged on December 20, 2009. After the engagement, they maintained a low profile until making their first public appearance together at a fundraising casino event in Gatineau, Canada.
They made several public outings together, including the 2010 CMT Awards, where they shared a lovely kiss after Underwood was announced as the winner of the Video of the Year award.
Underwood and Fisher tied the knot on July 10, 2010, at the Ritz-Carlton resort on Lake Oconee, Georgia. The ceremony was beautiful, with one of the highlights being Underwood walking down the aisle with her father.
HOMES OWNED BY FISHER AND UNDERWOOD
Fisher and Underwood have owned several homes in their time together. Before hooking up with Fisher, Underwood bought a property in Nashville, Tennessee, for $1.353 million.
The lavish mansion was located in Brentwood, Tennessee, a guard-gated golf course development. In 2019, she listed the 7,083-square-foot property for $1.45 million.
Fisher's NHL career has taken him to different cities and states. While playing for the Ottawa Senators, Fisher and Underwood bought a five-bedroom property that spanned 11 acres.
The house, which the couple called their dream home, was located in the suburb of West Carleton and featured an enclosed porch with a fireplace, wine cellar, wet bar, home gym, and home theatre.
In 2014, Fisher and Underwood sold the property for $1.95 million after he was traded to Nashville. However, the couple found it hard to get a buyer for the property and had to drop their asking price from $2.2 million to $1.95 million.
FISHER AND UNDERWOOD'S TENNESSEE HOME
In 2011, there was much excitement among Nashville and country music media following the news that Underwood and Fisher had purchased over 400 undeveloped acres in Nashville, Tennessee's scenic and semi-rural suburbs.
Variety reported that the couple paid around $2.9 million for 354 acres and another $350,000 for an adjoining 50-acre spread.
