Kids Have to Sell Their Toys to Pay Rent Because Their Mom Is Sick

Four siblings were selling their old toys on the side of the road, desperately trying to raise money for their rent and food expenses. When a stranger saw them, he couldn't look away.

Two young girls and their older brothers were walking the streets of a South African suburb last year searching for some much-needed help. There was a look of desperation on their faces, and one stranger took notice of it.

BI Phakathi approached the family and listened to their story. They were purportedly left to fend for themselves after their father passed away and their mother was diagnosed with cancer.

SELLING OLD TEDDY BEARS

Without any breadwinners, the youngsters used whatever items they had at home to raise money. In a heartbreaking video, the siblings tried to sell old teddy bears in the hopes of bringing in some cash.

The siblings rushed over to Phakathi as soon as he showed an interest in them. They offered him the teddy bears, but the mystery man was not interested in buying anything. He wanted to help them without asking for anything in return.

ASSISTING THE FAMILY

In the clip, Phakathi asked the siblings how he could assist them. They quickly indicated that any small donation would be helpful. One of the girls added that he could buy them food, but another sibling said they needed money for their rent.

Phakathi expressed: "I'm trying to assist, and the best possible way is to assist people who are doing the right things." He then handed one of the girls a pile of cash and asked:

"Do you know how to count? Can you count this?"

THE GENEROUS DONATION

After receiving the money, the family's sounds of joy and looks of relief were unmissable. The kind stranger didn't stop there and gave them another set of bills.

It was more than enough money to cover their monthly expenses, including rent and food bills. One of the older brothers embraced Phakathi with a smile on his face.

AN UNFORGETTABLE GESTURE

An older sibling shared that they had prayed for help shortly before meeting Phakathi. The family was thrilled and would never forget the kindness shown toward them.

While the money wouldn't last forever, the gesture would. Phakathi's kindness reminded the siblings to keep doing the right things and showed them that there was still some good in the world.

ANOTHER KIND STRANGER

BI Phakathi wasn't the only generous individual who decided to help people in need. A Walmart cashier named Gloria paid for the groceries when a customer needed some help. Using her debit card, she took care of the items with a smile.

The cashier shared that she always tried to help people if they came up short or couldn't afford their groceries. Her kindness made a big difference, as did Phakathi's actions. Both of them put love into action and made the world a better place.
