One might recognize Shelley Hennig from playing Malia Tate on "Teen Wolf." Let's meet the actress ahead of her recent series "The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window's" release.

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Shelley Hennig is the youngest of three siblings, with two older brothers. Hennig spent most of her childhood as a competitive dancer.

In high school, Hennig won the Miss Louisiana Teen USA 2004, then the Miss Teen USA 2004 title, which landed her a scholarship to New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts and a one-year contract modeling at the Trump Modeling Management.

Hennig debuted her acting career in 2007 after she joined the "Days Of Our Lives" cast playing Stephanie Johnson, the daughter of legendary super couple Steve Johnson and Kayla Brady. In 2012, she played Diana Meade in "The Secret Circle."

When "The Secret Circle" did not return for a second season, Hennig took on the role of Christy on MTV's "Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous." The following year, she appeared on the supernatural "Teen Wolf" in the series' third season.

Initially, she'd signed to appear in only a few episodes, but the showrunners decided to make her role permanent. She played Malia Tate, the only coyote in the show.

After living as a coyote for ten years, Malia tries to integrate into society. Her friends Kira, Lydia, Stiles, and Scott, played by Arden Cho, Holland Roden, Dylan O'Brien, and Tyler Posey, respectively, try to ease her transition.

Her role as Malia in the fan-favorite "Teen Wolf" won her the Choice Summer TV Star: Female Award at the Teen Choice Awards in 2016. Her other TV roles include "Blue Bloods," "Friends With Better Lives," and "Liberty Crossing."

She has also made guest appearances in "Dollface" and "Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet." But besides TV, Hennig has also appeared in the Blumhouse horror films "Unfriended" and "Ouija."

Other movie credits under her belt include playing photographer Carrie Grey on the romantic comedy "When We First Met," Melinda Riley in "About Scout," Lily Hunter in "Summer of 8," and Alicia Levine in "The After Party."

Hennig has had a successful career on both TV and film and her most recent is the dark comedy thriller "The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window," where she plays Lisa.

The series follows a heartbroken Anna, played by Kristen Bell, who watches the world go by as her eyes set on a handsome new neighbor. Every day seems the same for Anna until she witnesses a gruesome murder, or did she?

Lately, she has been drinking a lot, and even though she's confident she is a witness to a murder, everyone else thinks she was having a drunken episode or is simply crazy. The thriller series stars Mary Holland, Tom Riley, Cameron Britton, and Michael Ealy.
