When he's not playing Phil Burbank on the Western psychological drama film "The Power of the Dog," Benedict Cumberbatch is playing dad to his three sons, who he shares with Sophie Hunter.

CHRISTOPHER "KIT" CARLTON CUMBERBATCH

Christopher was born in June 2015 and is the first of the Cumberbatch-Hunter kids. He got the moniker "Carlton" from his paternal grandfather, but his doting parents affectionately refer to him as "Kit."

When "Kit" was only a year old, the "Brexit: The Uncivil War" actor shared how important family was to him and that having a wife and a son at home often kept him grounded and away from the rollercoaster of fame.

"I have a new family, and I have close friends who have known me since I first started and don't think of me like that! They're always happy to remind me who I am, which is good. I don't find it difficult to stay grounded." He said.

HAL AUDEN CUMBERBATCH

Cumberbatch's second child Hal Auden was born on March 3, 2017. A year before he arrived, Cumberbatch appeared on the "Live With Kelly and Ryan" show sharing how prepared they were for their second baby.

He disclosed that they were "excited" for the news and noted how it "took a village to raise one but would take a city to raise two children." He added that he still enjoys a few red carpet events here and there.

FINN CUMBERBATCH

However, he is a homely person and loves his family life in London. The couple welcomed their third child, Finn, in 2019. Like his brothers, he has been out of the spotlight since birth.

They began focusing on keeping things low-key and maintaining a tight family structure. "The Current War" actor disclosed that he thought his movie "The Hamlet" would hinder his parenting because it was about him being a son.

However, he would soon realize that the more he understood the dynamics of being a son, the better of a father he became. But more than being a father, his sons have helped him understand his parents more profoundly. He said as Hollywood reports:

"For years, I assumed my parents to be one thing, but when you have children yourself, your perception of them changes, as does the things they have done over the years."

Hunter has a flair for dramatics and is an actress, playwright, and theater director. Her movies include "Midsomer Murders," "Torchwood," and "Keen Eddie."

Her directing skills have seen her bag awards such as the prestigious Samuel Beckett Award for being the writer and director behind the avant-garde play "The Terrific Electric."
