LaMonica Garrett Is Married to Mina Ivanova with Whom He Shares a Son - Inside Their Interracial Marriage

LaMonica Garrett's character, Thomas, in "1883" may have found love with the recently widowed Noemi, but away from the cameras, the actor is a loving husband to Mina Ivanova. Meet the beautiful mother of one.

Garrett is familiar to his audiences for playing Secret Service agent Mike Ritter on the political thriller "Designated Survivor" and Lieutenant Cameron Burk on the action-drama "The Last Ship."

While he has appeared in many other films such as "Supergirl," "Arrow," and "The Flash," it was his appearance as Deputy Sheriff Cane on "Sons of Anarchy" that solidified his career in film.

A SUCCESSFUL CAREER IN FILM

"It was my first day on set. Seeing the professional actors and how they prepared each day, what it takes to get to that level of creativity was incredible," Garrett said, adding:

"To be a fly on that wall and process, it hit home that I gotta double down on this."

He has garnered immense success on his movies, even getting nominated for the US's Pasadena International Film Festival. However, viewers are even more intrigued with his latest role in "1883," a prequel to the famous "Yellowstone."

PLAYING A BLACK COWBOY ON "1883"

"1883" follows the Dutton family as they escape the chains of poverty in Texas and start the treacherous journey through the Oregon trail, searching for a better life in Montana.

The "Arrowverse" actor fully embraced the character of Thomas, a buffalo soldier turned Pinkerton agent who uses his hard-earned skills to guide the group through the trail alongside his friend and former Captain, Shea Brenna, a role by Sam Elliott.

He must protect the immigrants from the various dangers they face along the way, and as the series plays on, he falls in love with Noemi, a Roma woman that is recently widowed.

He may have lived a life riddled with hardship, but Thomas is a beacon of hope for the traveling settlers. Garrett mused of his character to Decider:

"Thomas is the humanity and the soul of the show. With everything that's happened to him, he makes the choice to live life in the now. We all have choices. It's a choice to be hopeful for tomorrow."

And while Noemi, played by Graciela Brancusi, steals his heart on set, the actor is married to Mina Ivanova in real life. The two have been married since April 27, 2017.

Unlike her husband, a San Francisco, California native, Mina was born and raised in Sofia, Bulgaria, and only moved to the US when she was 16. And while Garrett thrives best entertaining, Mina works in real estate.

With her years of invaluable experience in new construction and luxury home sales, Mina specializes in helping clients in Calabasas, Woodland Hills, Encino, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, and the surrounding areas buy and sell their homes.

Garrett and Mina have gained immense success in their respective careers, but away from their money-making crafts, the two are parents to a young boy.

Based on Mina's Instagram posts, the family of three loves spending time together taking walks, watching the sunsets, strolling the beach, and even dressing up in matching pajamas for Christmas.
