Navy Seaman Returns Home after a Long Trip, Sees His Wife Is Pregnant
A Californian woman with three kids thought it was a fantastic idea to keep her pregnancy a secret from her navy seaman husband until his return. See his reaction.
While a naval officer, Chris, was out at sea serving his country, his wife, Natasha Daugherty, was back home, catering for their three kids. Despite being present for the kids, she worked two jobs. Natasha was also carrying her fourth child, yet, she found a way to keep it from her husband.
Once Chris returned, the expectant mom welcomed him with the big surprise — an 8-month-old pregnancy and his reaction was priceless!
CHRIS'S ABSENCE
At first, Chris was away from home on a six-month deployment. Then he was sent to the Korean peninsula. This stirred an unsettling feeling in Natasha as she hatched her secret plan.
She thought about the possibility of her husband not coming home and mentioned that she would feel guilty if he never found out about their baby.

NATASHA DAUGHERTY'S SURPRISE WELCOME
In June 2017, the entire family gathered to welcome the returning sailor. While the kids excitedly rushed to hug their dad, Natasha stood anxiously, holding a placard with the words "Welcome Home BABY DADDY." Chris did not understand until she dropped the sign. He was overwhelmed and asked:
"Is that real?"
Without waiting for a response, he poked the tummy and got the confirmation needed. During an interview with a CBS correspondent, the naval officer explained that he thought it was unbelievable and that his wife was trying to trick him.

HOW DID NATASHA KEEP IT A SECRET?
The expectant mother revealed that the secrecy came at a price. She was conscious about her appearances in photos shared with her husband, and she would cover the growing bump.
Natasha added that it was slightly challenging to cope with her 4-year-old daughter at home. According to her, the little lady was a chatterbox who often questioned her mother. Frequently, the expectant mother would tell her daughter she was just getting fat.

LIFE AFTER THE INCREDIBLE NEWS
Although Natasha and Chris always talked about having a fourth child, neither of them was prepared during the conception phase. The Californian mom discovered that she was pregnant days after her husband's deployment. She was unsure and took the pregnancy test again.
According to her:
"I found out about a week after he left. I didn't believe it. I took the pregnancy test again and I was like, 'Oh no way.' That's when I decided I'm going to document it with weekly belly pictures for him so he wouldn't miss it."

Chris admitted that he was "extremely" happy about the news, especially with his wife's plan. He was happy she did something memorable. In his words:
"I was extremely happy with the news because we both wanted a fourth child and since it is our last I was happy she did something memorable and fun."
Natasha had waited for her husband before they found out the sex of the child. Once he arrived, the couple planned a gender reveal party. Chris was present for their child's birth but soon returned to serve the country.
Thankfully, the couple got what they had hoped for — their fourth and last child, all in the care of a hardworking mother and diligent father.
