A LOVE STORY ENVIED BY MANY

Momoa and Bonet's love story is a true Hollywood fairy tale. It all began with Momoa having a crush on his future wife back in 1987 when she starred on "The Cosby Show."

It was love at first sight for the Hawaiin native who got instantly smitten by Bonet though he was still an eight-year-old at the time. Momoa famously told James Corden during his appearance on "The Late Late Show" that he said to himself that he would stalk her and she would eventually be his.

As fate would have it, the stars aligned for Momoa, and he eventually met his "queen" in 2005. Their mutual friends introduced them at a New York City jazz club.

Given his crush, Momoa was ecstatic about it and even decided to don a matching hairstyle for the occasion. He admitted that he dreaded his hair for the California native. The duo had dreadlocks.

When they finally met in person, Momoa gushed that he had "fireworks going off inside me." He then convinced Bonet to take him home because he lived in a hotel at the time.

Porter magazine in 2018 that it was not a full-on moment the minute they saw each other but that they had been together from the day they met:

"At that moment, love came, and it came big, and he did not run as I think a lot of men do. He basically picked me up and threw me over his shoulder, caveman style!"

The couple is secretive about their relationship but has shown off tidbits about their romance over the years. They had their private nuptials years ago.

Us magazine only reported about the lovebirds' wedding in 2017. Multiple sources told the outlet that Momoa and Bonet wed in November 2007 and only made it official until October 2017.

"Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet had an official wedding a few weeks ago at their house in Topanga, California. Apparently, they weren't officially married until then! They said they 'made it official,'" revealed one insider.

Another confirmed that the pair had purchased a marriage license from the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/ County Clerk's office that same month, only one week before they exchanged their vows.

Momoa and Bonet share two children, Lola and Nakoa-Wolf. The "High Fidelity" star also has another daughter, actress Zoe Kravitz whom she shares with former spouse Lenny Kravitz.

Bonet married the rockstar in November 1987 and a month later, they welcomed Zoe. The former couple divorced in 1993 after six years of marriage.

Bonet's ex-husband Lenny once said in 2013 on "Oprah's Master Class" that he and his former wife were deeply in love. He said they had a magical relationship and that she helped bring out the best in him and inspired him. Lenny noted they were young when they met, and it was beautiful that they had their daughter Zoe.

Zoe attended the ceremony, as did Alicia Vikander, Michael Fassbender, and several of Momoa's former co-stars. A source revealed that he remains close to the people he works with in movies and is friendly.

His wife also happens to be one of his former castmates because the couple worked together on the TV thriller series "The Red Road." When asked what it was like working with the mother of his kids, Momoa told Collider:

"It's all right. No, it's an honor. We have to travel so far away from our families in this business. We have two children, so that's awesome if we can work together. Before I met her, it was a dream to work with her."

SHOCKING BREAKUP ANNOUNCEMENT

After nearly 17 years together and five years of marriage, the couple stunned their fans when they announced they had decided to part ways in January 2022. Momoa has since deleted the Instagram post about the split.

A source told People that their decision to break up did not happen overnight. An insider close to Bonet, 54, revealed that the couple "were amazing for years, until they no longer were," adding:

"They have grown apart because of different focuses."

The pair's career trajectories have landed them in different directions, according to the source who explained that 42-year-old Momoa struggled to find work a few years ago, and now his career is thriving.

He wants to keep working as much as possible, but that will come at a price because his spouse has had no interest in joining him at every location because she enjoys her life in LA.

The same month they announced that they were calling it quits, Momoa was spotted for the first time without his wedding band post the split news. He was photographed in LA wearing a black t-shirt and jeans while carrying a card box outside a grocery store.

GIVING LOVE A SECOND CHANCE

Though they announced the possibility of a divorce, the couple is reportedly trying to fix their marriage and giving it another go. A friend exclusively told Hollywood Life last month that the pair had a change of heart and are already living together again.

According to the source, Momoa moved back in with Bonet, and they have decided to work on their union together rather than throw in the towel because they had invested too much in each other.

Their brood daughter Lola, 14, and son Nokoa-Wolf, 13, are reportedly thrilled that their parents opted to work on their marriage, adding everyone is hoping that they make the best of it this time around.

Following the news of their reunion, the "Braven" star shared a post of support to his 33-year-old stepdaughter Zoe with her reported boyfriend Channing Tatum as they headed to the premiere of her new film "The Batman."

The proud stepdad posted a photo of him and Tatum posing with their arms wrapped around each other. Momoa captioned the post, writing that he was excited about the event stating he was beyond proud of Zoe while expressing his exhilaration for the anticipated movie.

INSIDE THEIR HEARTWARMING BLENDED FAMILY

When it comes to his family, Momoa's teenage kids often make red carpet appearances with him, including the premiere of his biggest film to date, "Aquaman," in 2018. The youngsters also accompanied their famous dad to the premiere of "No Time To Die" in London.

Bonet and Momoa welcomed their eldest child Lola in July 2007. The father of two got candid about being a parent and how he handled his daughter officially becoming a teenager in an interview with Men's Health in November 2020:

"I'm not going to dwell with it. I'll hate it if she brings home some bad boy. I'm like, 'If you find a man who treats you better than I {treat Bonet}, Goodluck!'"

The couple's second child Nakoa-Wolf arrived in December 2008. Much like his relationship with his daughter, Momoa's bond with his son is also strong.

In May 2020, the filmmaker shared a video of the father and son duo throwing tomahawks at a target. Momoa said his wife was more sophisticated and that he and his kids were "kind of like animals that need to be trained a little better."

He added that he is a work in progress and that he had been trying to be a better husband and a father. It is evident in his relationship with Zoe, born on December 1, 1988.

Momoa often showers the singer with support on social media and at premieres on her career milestones. He calls her "zozo bear" on Instagram, and she, in turn, has referred to her stepfather as "papa bear."

Moreover, the "See" star said he loved Zoe's ex-husband Karl Glusman including her birth father. Momoa said he hopes and prays that his daughter Lola is as talented as her stepsister, loving and open and close to her family.

Despite learning that Zoe's dad is Lenny, he was not intimidated, and instead, Momoa got drawn close to the singer-songwriter who spoke highly of Bonet. The record producer said he and his ex-wife are now like brother and sister.

"After Lisa and I separated, we learned to find a new relationship. Then I met Jason when they got together, and I love him, he loves my kid, and I love their kids, and we're all one big family. It's beautiful," said Lenny. He and Momoa even have matching bone skull rings.
