Heather Locklear’s First & Final Love Saved Her from Downward Spiral Following Her 2 Broken Marriages
The first man Heather Locklear fell in love with was the one who put a stop to her addiction. She had endured two failed marriages with two "Mötley Crüe" musicians and had been spinning out of control — then she met him again at a local store.
They say nobody ever forgets their first love, which was especially true for Heather Locklear, who never forgot hers and returned to him.
The actress got engaged to her heart-throb former motocross racer Chris Heisser in April 2020. The two are high school sweethearts who reunited several years ago.

Though she once admitted that Heisser is her man for all time regardless of whether they make it to the altar or not, the idea of marrying him was exciting, and she prepared earnestly for a wedding. It will be Locklear's third marriage, but she is in no rush to do anything, confident as she is in their love for each other. Locklear said:
"[A wedding] is so not important,We're together, and we love each other and support each other. And really that's all that matters."
Of course, all that trust and understanding is possible only because they love each other, and indeed they have turned out to be a perfect pair, with Heisser influencing her positively.

It's no wonder the engagement happened after her one-year sobriety anniversary — an essential milestone celebration. Fans are very happy for the actress because everyone can agree that the two have been through their fair share of road bumps that rattled their relationship.
For example, in 2018, there were 911 calls made from her residence several times claiming domestic incidents between the couple. In February of that year, Locklear was arrested for domestic violence.
There was reportedly evidence that she had attacked Heisser during a dispute; however, she claimed in a search warrant that he had cut off her breathing by choking her.
He was never charged for it, and that same year, Locklear reportedly attacked Heisser again, and the court responded by placing her on a 5150 psychiatric hold.
Us Weekly confirmed the lovebirds split up in 2019, but they later sought each other out. The talented actress and mother believes that her long history with Heisser adds a bit of magic to their relationship making it more unique. She says:
"When I'm with him, I go, 'This feels like home. You feel like home, and basically, he's the most easy-going, loving person. He just has my back, and I have his. He truly is super special to me."
The two first dated while they were high school students in the 1970s — they even ended up being named prom queen and king.
Life separated them, but they eventually reunited after several years following a chance meeting at a store. However, that was disputed in 2019 when a source revealed that the two were reconnected thanks to mutual friends.
Apparently, the spark had been alive, and it quickly blossomed into a burning flame, commencing the second part of their relationship. Even though Locklear is not about to rush anything, the two started making plans to wed during the pandemic.
A source revealed to Us Magazine at the time that they are both at a good place and have found plenty of ways to keep each other happy. Locklear, who has a child named Ava from one of her previous marriages, has the support of her loved ones, and so does Heisser.
According to the source, they wanted a small and intimate ceremony, but plans were in a crawl because of the COVID-19 pandemic. For them, it's just not okay that their loved ones would not be there in person.
BEFORE THEY REUNITED
Locklear is a talented artist with a successful Hollywood career spanning decades; however her personal life has been anything but glamorous and positive.
Locklear has a long history of substance abuse, and it was something she could not do away with even after she welcomed a child and got engaged.
In 1993 she divorced her first husband, Tommy Lee, whom she married at the age of 24. The Mötley Crue singer had been 23 at the time, but that didn't stop them from throwing a lavish party to celebrate the marriage at the Santa Barbara Biltmore on May 10, 1986.
They went their separate ways in 1993, but by December 1994, she was already married to Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora. Their wedding was held in Paris, and it lasted until April 2007 when she announced her divorce from him.
The pair had met thanks to a mutual friend, and they had entered a whirlwind romance that saw him proposing seven months later. Locklear's only child, Ava Elizabeth, was the product of her marriage to the guitarist. They split in February 2006, but things were not finalized until the following year.
In 2008, Locklear checked herself into an Arizona facility for treatment of her psychological issues. She stayed there four weeks, getting treated for anxiety and depression, then she returned home in July 2008.
She stayed clean for some time, but in September 2008, she was arrested on suspicion of DUI. She pleaded no contest, and charges were dropped, but in April 2010, she was arrested for a hit and run.

It was determined it was not her car, and there was insufficient evidence to place her behind the wheel at the time of the accident, so charges were dropped against her.
In January 2012, she was rushed to the hospital after ingesting a mixture of alcohol and prescription pills. After that, she went out of control on drugs, and it continued for years until she entered rehab again in 2018.
She kept going in and out of rehab, and by 2019 a source confessed that she must have enrolled more than 20 times in different rehabs.

THE BROKEN ENGAGEMENT
Jack Wagner and Locklear once starred opposite each other as love interests on "Melrose Place," but they later fell in love off-screen as well, even as she struggled with her addiction.

They started the relationship in 2007 and were engaged in August 2011, before ending things in November. According to Wagner, they separated because the wedding plans had been too overwhelming and all-consuming that they had very little time to spend with their own kids.
Wagner has also claimed that Locklear didn't want a "blended family" because it would be too much chaos for their kids, thereby meaning they would run out of time to spend together.

They maintained a cordial relationship after the split, and when he heard about her arrest and hospitalization in 2018, he took to social media to show his support and encourage her.
As a parent to a child who also suffers from substance abuse and addiction, he could understand to an extent what she was going through.

A GOOD PARENT
Despite all her faults, Locklear's child, Ava, loves her very deeply and has been known to sing her praises. In the past, she opened up about how her mom helped her cope with anxiety.
According to Ava, her anxiety had worsened around the end of 2019, but luckily she lived only about an hour away from Locklear, who would drop whatever she was doing to go offer her comfort when she had an attack.
Ava admitted that her mom made her feel heard and never judged her, and it helped her continue with life. In addition, her mom's kindness gave the confidence to open up to others so they could understand and relate to her experience.
Locklear has only kind words to say about her daughter and called her "a miracle" because of how nice she is. She and Ava's dad, Sambora, have maintained a good relationship, and the man has been active in his daughter's life enough for her to call him "her rock."
She claims he was there for her when she needed him, and when she was younger, he tried his best not to miss important milestones no matter how far away he was.
