'From' Star Catalina Sandino Moreno Is a Doting Mother of One Son - Get to Know Her Family
Catalina Sandino Moreno is a Colombian actress whose acting skills have caught the attention of movie lovers. But away from acting, Moreno has an intriguing relationship with her son.
Born in Bogota in 1981, Catalina Sandino Moreno's life has been a delightful tale. The Colombian actress is living her dreams, from sharing the best actress trophy with Charlize Theron to playing in several chart-topping films.
Although Moreno turned out to be a superstar, she didn't always imagine how far she would go in her career. Moreno didn't receive the recognition she had hoped for after embracing life as an actress in her younger years.

Moreno decided to further her studies and enrolled to study advertising at a Colombian college. However, she dropped out of college when her breakthrough role knocked on the door.
The then 20-year-old had just been chosen from over 800 actresses who auditioned to feature in the 2004 hit movie, "Maria Full of Grace."

Moreno's poor luck with auditions almost discouraged her from attempting the role, but thanks to her mother and close friend, she went for the audition and emerged victoriously.
The movie, filmed in Ecuador and New York, was all Moreno needed to convince her that she was meant for the stage.

As a result, she received an Oscar nomination, a Silver Berlin Bear for Best Actress at the 2004 Berlin International Film Festival, and a Best Actress award at the 2004 Seattle International Film Festival.
She moved to New York City to study at the Lee Strasberg Institute using the money she earned from the film. Soon after, she had her New York theatrical debut in Shakespeare's "King John," performed by the Frog & Peach Theatre Company.

Her performance gained widespread attention, and at the ShoWest Convention in 2005, she received a special award as International Star of the Year.
In the years since her ShoWest success, Moreno has appeared in several films, including "Fast Food Nation," "Love in the Time of Cholera," "Che," and "A Most Violent Year."
She also rose to prominence on television, appearing in shows such as "The Bridge," "Red Band Society," "Falling Skies," and "The Affair." In addition, Moreno gained widespread fame for her role in the 2016 thriller "Incarnate." She also had a guest appearance in the CBS mystery series "American Gothic."
Moreno was recently cast alongside Harold Torres for the action thriller "Silent Night," which stars Joel Kinnaman. Show producers are delighted to have the 40-year-old actress on board.
While fans anticipate her role in "Silent Night," they are undoubtedly impressed by her charisma in the epic horror series "From," where she plays Tabitha Matthews. The show focuses on a town filled with horror for everyone that enters it.
While much of the spotlight has been on her career, not many fans know that Moreno is also a devoted family woman and a doting mom to her only son, whom she shares with her husband, electrician David Elwell.
The couple tied the knot in 2006 and reportedly welcomed their son in 2008. Moreno is tightlipped about her family, but she often takes to her Instagram to pay tribute to her son.
The mother-son duo seems to have a lot of bonding time, including watching episodes from her new series, "From." The actress shared a picture showing them enjoying a lovely moment together.
She captioned the post, "TONIGHT! New episode of FROM! Check out who wins at this game. " Fans took to the comment section to praise the actress for being a doting mom.
