Kate & Harry 'Got on like They'd Known Each Other Forever' — She Helped Him Fill Hole Left by Diana's Death

Prince William and Prince Harry seemed to put aside their feud to come together during the Queen's death.

The siblings were once close before Harry married Duchess Meghan, but the Duke of Sussex was more relative to William's wife, Duchess Kate.
The United Kingdom was left at a standstill on September 8, 2022, when the Queen's death was announced. The Royal Family shared the news on their social media platforms revealing how the monarch had died in Scotland.
Queen Elizabeth II was 96 when she passed on at Balmoral Castle in the afternoon. The Royal Family also noted how the new King and The Queen Consort, the Queen's son, King Charles III, and his wife, Camilla, remained at the estate that day.
The King, formerly known as Prince Charles, was crowned the new monarch alongside his wife after the Queen's death. The Royal Family revealed that the pair head to London the following day.
After King Charles, the person next in line to inherit the British throne is his son, Prince William. Upon losing his grandmother, William inherited his father's former title and was known as the Prince of Wales, while his wife, Duchess Kate, was titled the Princess of Wales.
In recent years, William had been feuding with his younger brother, Prince Harry. The two siblings clashed over family matters and how they and their wives were treated differently; however, things seemed to change after their grandmother died.
According to The Times, the duo called a truce so they could have a joint walkabout outside Windsor Castle's gates, including their wives. William and his wife, Harry and his wife, Duchess Kate, all presented a united front for the occasion.
They viewed flowers left outside, read messages from mourners, and greeted those in attendance. The publication claimed William had been the one who felt "uncomfortable" with meeting the well-wishers without his brother.
The foursome spent 40 minutes with the crowd before leaving together in the same car driven by William. On September 15, 2022, the two couples attended an event where the late Queen's coffin was received at Buckingham Palace.
According to The Sun, that evening, a dinner was held with other Royal Family members as the late monarch spent a final night at her London residence. The publication claimed the dinner was a private and small one where no photos were taken.
Harry and William were also present, which was seen as another sign that they were willing to put their rift aside to mourn the Queen. However, before the feud, the Duke of Sussex allegedly got on well with Kate and her husband.
In 2003, the Princess and Harry were first introduced at Highgrove with her future husband present. According to reports, Harry seemed stunned when she looked away for a split second.

In Christopher Andersen's book "Brothers and Wives" the author revealed how Harry's jaw dropped, and he allegedly mouthed the words, "Oh my God, she is gorgeous!" Andersen claimed William's brother hadn't realized that his future sister-in-law had caught his reflection in a mirror.
From that point, she insisted that her future brother-in-law visit St. Andrews to spend weekends with her and William. It revealed that her mother, Carole Middleton, was the instigator who urged Kate to go to St. Andrews when William was there.

Carole also allegedly advised her daughter to bond with William's younger brother to solidify a long-lasting relationship with the Duke of Cambridge. Kate heeded her mother's advice but had naturally already "nursed a tender affection" for Harry, who lost his mother while young.
When Princess Diana passed away, everyone empathized with her youngest son because he was vulnerable. People's hearts went out to the little boy more than William as he walked behind their mother's coffin.

Someone else with information, Jules Knight, disclosed how Kate and her future brother-in-law always got along from the start. Knight described the duo's relationship, stating:
"Kate and Harry got on like they'd known each other forever."

While William was known for being the more serious, his brother and wife shared a mischievous streak. Knight said the pair were fun when together, joking around and consistently trying to find ways to make each other laugh.
The duo's bond allegedly strengthened when the Duke of Sussex discovered how the Duchess of Cambridge got her nickname, "Middlebum." He once described her as an older sister he never had and a mother figure.

According to a royal insider, what the Princess allegedly found appealing about her brother-in-law was the bond they shared. The source revealed the two had a different relationship than the one she had with her spouse:
"Harry appeals to her sillier side because he is carefree, footloose, and loves banter. He finds things funny about people and says so."

Harry and Kate's relationship also extended into his adult life. After the Cambridges started dating in 2003 while enrolled at the University of St. Andrews, Kate met her then-boyfriend's brother.
Harry Was Kate's Major Ally in Her Relationship with William
Harry became Kate's greatest supporter when she and William had trouble in their relationship and were spotted arguing in public spaces. At first, she had reluctantly agreed to keep a low profile, whereas William consistently made front-page news.

The royal was linked to several young women in the UK and overseas. People were astounded when William hopped on a plane to Tennessee to spend time with an Edinburgh University student named Anna Sloan, an American heiress, at her family's home outside Nashville.
One individual, in particular, that upset his girlfriend was Jecca Craig, his old lover from Kenya. At some point, Craig was dubbed "The One" for the future King of England.

The Duke's father, King Charles III, attempted to intervene by issuing a statement insisting there was nothing between the pair, saying they were only friends. However, for two consecutive years, his son pushed to Africa to spend part of his summer vacation with Craig.
Kate allegedly put her foot down when William revealed that he would return for the third time. One of their close circle from St. Andrews divulged that she felt "threatened and humiliated," but her lover remained adamant about his plans.
Harry stepped in and urged his brother to consider his girlfriend's feelings, and William decided to skip out on the trip. News reports later revealed that he did not have to leave the country to see Craig because they attended two weddings without Kate.

Finally, King Charles interceded, telling his son that he needed to stop seeing Craig and avoid leading her on because it would be unfair to her. Kate was grateful that both her future father-in-law and Harry stepped in.
However, chaos erupted when the couple was captured on camera having a moment during a ski trip at Klosters. They made the news with The Sun's headline reading:
"Finally, Wills Gets a Girl."
The article angered the Royal Family, and the palace allegedly issued a statement accusing the publication of not keeping their end of the deal in leaving William alone until he graduated from St. Andrews. He later reportedly begged Kate to take him back.
Meanwhile, author Tina Brown revealed that Harry had fallen in love. The author said, "Prince Harry, romantically drifted himself in an erratic relationship with Zimbabwean beauty Chelsy Davy, was a major Kate ally."

As Harry's bond with Kate had begun when he was a young boy, it continued flourishing until he met someone he fell in love with. He even bonded with his nephew and niece as a fun uncle.
Kate and Harry's Relationship Was Flourishing before He Married
Before Duchess Meghan came along, Harry and Kate's relationship was allegedly going strong. When his mother passed, the young Prince reportedly had no one to open up to emotionally but his sister-in-law.

Luckily, the Duchess helped fill that void, and when the Cambridges finally got engaged, Harry deemed Kate the sister he never had. He used to visit the couple's apartment in Kensington Palace, where Kate reportedly cooked him his favorite meal, roast chicken.
In February 2022, Express reported that body language expert Jesus Enrique Rosas assessed the pair's relationship before and after he married Meghan. Rosas' focus was to determine whether their body language interactions were authentic.

The expert touched on Harry's interview with Newsweek, where he was asked whether he reflected on his destiny to the throne after the Duke and Duchess announced they were expecting their first child. The Prince laughed and said he had not thought that far and was merely missing the couple.
Harry confessed, "I'm longing to see my brother and sister-in-law." Rosas said the royal's response was playful and that mentioning his brother and wife meant they were important to him.

Kate later ensured her brother-in-law remained involved in charity work from their Royal Foundation when she and William married. For years, the pair were neighbors when Harry moved to Nottingham Cottage and enjoyed watching "Game of Thrones." Rosas said there were many pictures of the duo smiling and laughing together, noting:
"You know that they're really comfortable together, and one of the reasons why is that they tend to mirror each other with their bodies."
He added that they both discovered a way to express something that both men and women should acknowledge. The expert described Kate as a "feminine figure" who used emotional intelligence to notice Harry's struggle and served as a catalyst for him to search within.

Before the Prince married Meghan, Rosas noted how Kate had been his perfect confidant, saying, "Before Meghan, and spending so much time with Kate, she became the best way to speak about his emotions."
The body language expert said everyone knew it was a topic Harry couldn't talk to his brother about. An insider told the Daily Mail that the Duchess and Harry developed a "genuine friendship" while relying on one another for support other than his stepmother Camilla. Moreover, Kate was described as Harry's "trusted counsel."
Meanwhile, the Duke gracefully took on the role of being a fun uncle to Kate's children. An insider revealed the duo bonded over Harry's free spirit, adding how his attitude helped when playing with Kate's brood.
"Kate adores the way Harry plays with her children," a source said. The insider claimed the Duke was good with the children and was like a "charming big kid and silly uncle."
While living as neighbors, the Duke of Sussex usually popped into the couple's gym to work out alongside William. He got used to seeing his in-law in her cashmere dressing gown while she read to her daughter, Princess Charlotte.
Harry would join in on cozy family dinners, eating from their laps, said one royal insider. However, things drastically changed after the Duke found a different companion and married his wife.
The Duke of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge's Relationship after His Marriage to Meghan
Rosas also assessed the period of Kate and William's engagement compared to that of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, noting how the former had waited nine years for her husband to propose. He emphasized that it was four times more of what it took for Harry to ask Meghan's hand in marriage.

"So, it's absolutely possible that at some point, Kate suggested Harry was going too fast," said Rosas. The expert added that the former actress might have had no problem with things moving fast between her and the Prince, stating:
"Of course, Meghan was more than willing to go at 100 miles per hour. She must have guessed that Kate was suggesting for Harry to slow down."

In addition, Rosas claimed that perhaps Harry talking about Meghan often might have created animosity between the two royal ladies. He also mentioned that those points helped paint a better picture of understanding Meghan's statement during an interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.
At the time, Meghan claimed that the Duchess of Cambridge supposedly made her cry ahead of her marriage to Harry. Rosas speculated that Meghan talking about Kate was more damaging for the relationship between their husband despite Harry considering his sister-in-law as his sister.

The expert also discussed the Princes and Kate walking side-by-side following their grandfather, Prince Philip's funeral service. Rosas hinted that the Duchess used her emotional intelligence again to allow the royal brothers to catch up alone.
He referred to the deed as a power move from her side, which could be used to build stronger relationships, adding that seeing the trio was a delightful throwback. The expert suggested the act of the couple walking with Harry sandwiched in between demonstrated a signal of protection.

He noted how Kate must have thought that she could not wholeheartedly win over her husband's trust if that was not the case with his brother. Rosas concluded that it could be why the Duchess decided to show a united front in the manner she did, adding it could not be denied that she helped Harry over the years.

Additionally, in December 2021, an insider revealed to People that the Duchess of Cambridge had been "really, really upset about it all," referring to the Sussexes' departure from the UK.

The source claimed things with Harry and his wife had been stressful but pulled William and Kate together. The Princess of Wales was allegedly "upset" about the move because her husband felt that way, and seeing him distraught was difficult.
Reports stated that Kate regretted getting involved in the family drama of Harry and his exit as a senior member of the Royal Family. The Cambridges reportedly immersed themselves in good energy to combat the stress they endured caused by Megxit.
Before Harry met Markle, he was the third wheel in Kate and his brother's relationship and tagged along wherever they went. However, everything changed once he became a married man.
Hence it was refreshing to see him with the couple yet again, just like the old times, during the funeral procession of Philip, who sadly died in April 2021. The trio appeared to be in good spirits during their reunion. Shortly after the public ceremony, they even went to a private funeral wake for Philip at Windsor Castle.
