WHO IS BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH'S WIFE, SOPHIE HUNTER?

Benedict Cumberbatch might be the most famous member of his family, but his wife Sophie Hunter is a talented and multifaceted artist. She is an actress, singer, theater director, and playwright.

Hunter debuted as a director in 2007's "The Terrific Electric" and has directed many more plays. Apart from acting in "Midsomer Murders" and "Henry VIII: Mind of a Tyrant," Hunter also released an album in French in 2009 and another one in English in 2011.

Before marrying Benedict Cumberbatch, Sophie Hunter was in a long relationship with sculptor Conrad Shawcross. In 2009, when Hunter was single, she worked next to Cumberbatch in "Burlesque Fairytale."

The "Sherlock Holmes" star was then dating Olivia Poulet, so nothing romantic happened between them right away. Cumberbatch and Poulet parted ways in 2010, and he and Hunter sparked dating rumors for the first time at the French Open in 2014.

Cumberbatch said it was probably linked to the idea that the "internet's boyfriend" must not belong to anyone else but the internet. Luckily, their love has persevered.

After receiving a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Cumberbatch praised Hunter for her "searing honesty." He also thanked her for their three boys, adding that they keep him grounded despite his achievements.
