Duff has not been lucky in love. The actress started dating the rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, dancer, and record producer Aaron Carter when they were both 13 in the early 2000s.

In 2002, she started dating actor Frankie Muniz after they co-starred in "Agent Cody Banks." However, they broke up in 2004 and are on good terms even though she did not star in the movie's sequel.

After starring alongside Jordan Masterson in "Cheaper by the Dozen," the duo started dating, but it lasted three months as Duff broke it off because of her busy schedule.

She also dated "Good Charlotte" band member Joel Madden for three years, even though he was nine years older than her.
