In her interview, the soon-to-be bride gave an overview of what would happen on her wedding day. The actress, set to marry Brandon Frankel, does not plan to be a traditional bride.
Gabourey Sidibe, who had walked down the aisle in a wedding dress long before she was engaged to her fiancé, says she will be doing things differently.

She talked about her perfect celebration and also spilled the beans on her relationship with Frankel, whom she called an incredible partner.
While the bride prepares for her spring 2023 wedding, here is everything you need to know about her fiancé, their relationship, proposal, and Sidibe's reasons for not wanting to be a traditional bride.
WHO IS BRANDON FRANKEL? MEET GABOUREY SIDIBE'S FIANCÉ
Frankel is a marketing and branding expert and the head of partnerships at NoCap Live, Inc. This platform promises the best digital experiences to connect artists and fans on their televisions, tablets, laptops, or mobile devices.
Before his role at NoCap he worked for Cameo, one of TIME magazine's top 50 most genius companies of 2018. Frankel is also the owner of Contra Inc., a multi-faceted consulting firm.
HOW LONG HAVE GABOUREY AND BRANDON BEEN TOGETHER?
The couple made their relationship public when Frankel posted a selfie of them on his Instagram page on May 10, 2019. They met on a dating app.
Frankel, who was initially skeptical about online dating, downloaded Raya—an exclusive, members-only dating app. While he swiped yes to everyone he was matched with, Sidibe swiped yes to only him.
Even though he initially thought Sidibe's account was catfishing him, Frankel gave it a chance, and they met for their first date, which lasted for over seven hours.
They shared an immediate spark, and the rest is history. After approximately 18 months of dating, Frankel proposed to Sidibe in November 2020.
HOW DID BRANDON PROPOSE TO GABOUREY? IT DIDN'T GO AS PLANNED
Frankel knew he was ready to propose by October 2020, and he contacted Pendergast & Painter jewelers to create Sidibe's dream engagement ring.
"I'm super against tradition."
He had picked out the stone and worked on it with the jewelers for months, only to find out that she wanted a round, brilliant diamond and not a princess-cut diamond.
Frankel revised his design and took time to plan what was meant to be the perfect surprise proposal. When Sidibe decided to use their shared phone to take a picture, she saw a picture of the ring in the gallery.
On the day of the proposal, Frankel forgot to turn off the lights in the bedroom. Sidibe went to turn them off before leaving the house and ended up seeing the entire proposal setup, effectively ruining his carefully-laid surprise plans.
However, he still surprised her by incorporating their shared cats into his plans. One of the cats wore a collar and tag that read, "Will you marry my daddy?"
WHY IS GABOUREY NOT WEARING A TRADITIONAL WHITE DRESS TO HER WEDDING?
Sidibe dreams of a wedding that will include Senegalese, American, and Jewish cultures because their wedding is a partnership.
While the food will feature a mix of cultures, the bride wants Senegalese twists or cornrows with a tiara and lots of jewelry to adorn her hair.
For makeup, Sidibe wants her eyes to stand out with extremely long butterfly eyelashes and will go for a very bold lip color to make a statement. For her dress, Sidibe said:
"I'm super against tradition. I definitely don't need a white dress."
The actress, who plans to wear a Christian Siriano creation, is considering having a wedding dress made out of African print with a touch of white to make it look bridal. However, Sidibe knows that whatever she settles for will be colorful.
