The "Star Wars" universe has become a cornerstone of our culture. Even if some of us don't watch the movies, visions of colorful lightsabers, Jedis, and the earworm "I am your father" fill up our minds every time they are mentioned. It is no wonder then that 2022 will be a big year for the franchise.

Earlier this month, the" Obi-Wan Kenobi" Trailer was released. With enthralling action sequences and sensational music mixed into the backdrop of stormtroopers and spaceships arises the focus on the young Obi-Wan Kenobi himself.

Ewan McGregor, the man we all know and love who adorns this character, shows off his acting chops in this trailer. He stares with intensity directly into the camera lens before darkness descends. It ends — leaving us all in suspense.

EWAN MCGREGOR'S ON THE STAR WARS TRILOGY

As a self-proclaimed indie actor, McGregor strangely found himself playing a character in a mega movie franchise, contracted to play in a trilogy as Obi-Wan Kenobi.

His first appearance in "The Phantom Menace," which came out in 1999, was not met with good reviews, which the actor admitted was quite disheartening.

Two decades later, a new film with his character at the center will come out. Speaking about his take on Obi-Wan Kenobi, McGregor expressed:

“I just said, ‘I think that it should be a story about a broken man, a man who’s lost his faith. He always has a funny line to say or always seems to be calm and is a good warrior or soldier… but to see that man come apart, and see what gets him back together again — that’s where we started.”

Although in a galaxy far, far away, Star Wars has made it into the actor's personal life with his girlfriend Mary Elizabeth Winstead joining "Ahsoka" — another "Star Wars" series.

THE ORDER IN WHICH TO WATCH THE STAR WARS MOVIES

This space-based franchise is confusing for those familiar with the films, no less for those just beginning to enjoy it.

Although, it is not that simple, with some claiming that everyone should watch the movies in the order they were released.

Others push for chronological order, which does not correspond with the releases but instead follows the typical storyline from beginning to end, meaning you will have to do some digging.

Lastly, some advocate for the "machete order." This is more complex than the others but comes down to the following: "Solo," "Rogue One," "A New Hope," "Empire Strikes Back," "Prequel Break– Episode I," "Episode VII," "Episode III," "Return of the Jedi," The Force Awakens," "The Last Jedi and lastly "The Rise of Skywalker."

Whichever way one chooses to watch it, there is a slim chance they won't enjoy it based on its massive popularity. So, if you feel the need, perhaps it's time for a binge before watching McGregor on screen again.
