The late Ray Liotta's legacy will not only live on in the characters he embodied onscreen but also through his daughter, who has inherited her father's gift for performance.

On May 26, 2022, Ray Liotta died in his sleep in the Dominican Republic, where he was filming the movie "Dangerous Waters." He was 67 years old.

With 120 acting credits under his belt, Liotta was well-known for his starring role in the Martin Scorcese mob series "Goodfellas."

His character Henry Hill said a line that will go down in crime drama history: "As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster." Scorsese expressed his grief:

"I'm absolutely shocked and devastated by the sudden, unexpected death of Ray Liotta. He was so uniquely gifted, so adventurous, so courageous as an actor."

While it is a gift for any actor to work with someone as prolific as Scorsese, Liotta almost never pursued acting in the first place.

The "Field of Dreams" actor said he had no interest in acting as a child and wanted to become a construction worker. But when he went to university, Liotta saw a good-looking woman signing up for the drama department, so he followed suit.

Eventually, Liotta moved to Los Angeles to try and make a name for himself. He became so sought after that he grew intensely selective about roles. Liotta even turned down possible characters in "The Sopranos" and Tim Burton's "Batman."

Although he's no longer with us, fans can still connect with their favorite mob gangster through films such as "Something Wild," "Cop Land," and "Killing Them Softly."

Liotta leaves behind a daughter, 23-year-old Karsen — whom he shared with ex-wife actress Michelle Grace — and his fiancée, Jacy Nittolo. Karsen was the one who introduced Nittolo to her father.

Born into a family of actors, Karsen didn't have a typical upbringing. Instead of going to the movies or shopping with friends, she spent her days on sets and attended red carpet events with her family.

Karsen's family also influenced her future as a young girl who developed a talent for acting. While speaking about performing, she said:

"It's really important to always think about how you can improve, no matter how good you are. There's always something you can work on."

She has appeared in films such as "Teenage Badass" and "Hubie Halloween." Karsen also had a role in "Shades of Blue," where she acted alongside her father.

Michelle Grace was born in 1968 in Chicago, Illinois. She appeared alongside her ex-husband in films such as "Take the Lead" and "Narc."

Grace and Liotta first crossed paths at a baseball game where the "Goodfellas" actor was part of the Chicago Cubs baseball team. By 1997 they were married but later got divorced in 2004.

The two were not only civil but remained friends after the divorce. They made sure they both spent a fair amount of time with their daughter — something that Karsen most likely appreciates about her late father.
