‘Harry Potter’ Star Samantha Morton: Is She Married and Does She Have Kids?

The award-winning British actress, Samantha Morton, has three children by two fathers but has never been married. However, she and filmmaker and actor Harry Holm are currently in a long-term relationship. Here is a look at the life of the "Minority Report" actress.

On May 15, 2022, news broke that "Band of Gold," "Girlfriends," "Children Ward," and "Fat Friends" writer, Kay Mellor, died at 71. The actor and writer had a career spanning over three decades.

After her death, actors Samantha Morton and Cathy Tyson paid tribute to Kay Mellor and called her a "fighter, a warrior woman, and an insanely talented" writer and director.

Morton, a teenager when she was cast in "Band of Gold," described Mellor as an inspiration. Morton said:

"I had a few issues growing up in regards to male directors and Kay was always unbelievably supportive of me. She would have my back and protect me whilst we were shooting. She would also really listen to us and how we felt."

Morton further stated that there would never be anybody like Mellor again as there was truth in Mellor's writing, and she was lucky to have fit the bill. Morton revealed that Mellor believed in her, and it changed her life.

The Nottingham native has been in several relationships and has three children. She dated actor Charlie Creed-Mills for a year beginning in 1999 after they met on the set of "The Last Yellow."

They had a daughter, Esme, in 2000, and she is also an actress who played the title character in "Hanna." In the mid-2000s, she began dating filmmaker Harry Holm, with whom she had a daughter named Edie in 2008.

They also had a son named Theodore, born in 2012. The couple is not married, but they share a home in Derbyshire. Morton and Holm met while he was filming a music video, and they have been in a relationship since 2005.

Morton is best known for being the leader of The Whisperers - Alpha in "The Walking Dead." The award-winning star, who started training to be an actress at 13, has also starred in "Emma," "Jane Eyre," "Under the Skin," "Sweet and Lowdown," and more.

HOW IS SAMANTHA MORTON RELATED TO HARRY POTTER AND FANTASTIC BEASTS

In the movie "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," Morton played the role of Mary Lou, a narrow-minded No-Maj and the leader of a group known as the New Salem Philanthropic Society or the Second Salemers.

The group's goals included exposing and killing wizards and witches. However, she is the adoptive mother of Credence Barebone, who played the role of a secret Obscurial wizard and was "the cast's most mysterious character."

SAMANTHA MORTON WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO ANSWER WEINSTEIN PUBLICLY

In 2003, Morton talked publicly about the fact that Harvey Weinstein had ordered Terry Gilliam not to cast her in "The Brothers Grimm." His actions made her feel that she was the first person to have answered him back publicly.

Even though speaking out cost Morton her career, she decided to keep quiet when the #MeToo movement started. The actress revealed that she kept quiet because she had cared about the subject before she could speak as it was very close to home.

On May 17, 2009, Morton released her directorial debut with "The Unloved." The film was produced for Channel 4 and was based on Morton's experiences as a child in a care home.
