Actress Bryce Howard met her future spouse, actor Seth Gabel when she was in university. It was love at first sight for her but not for him.

"The Help" star revealed to The Telegraph in June 2010 that the minute she first laid eyes on Gabel, she was smitten by him and knew they would marry one day.

"The second I saw him, I broke into hives. That night I wrote in my journal, 'Today I met the man I'm going to marry,'" Howard recalled. But the Florida native seemed disinterested, so she took it upon herself to relentlessly pursue him for months.

However, it turned out that Gabel low-key liked her but only said it to her friends, telling them that he thought she did not like him. Nonetheless, the pair wed in June 2006 and spent their honeymoon touring the Greek islands, which later became a family reunion with her parents.

Howard and Gabel welcomed their first child together shortly after their nuptials. Their son Theo arrived in 2007. Howard revealed their child was "a delightful surprise" because "we were planning to have children in our thirties." But she has no regrets about having a baby while young. She and Gabel had their daughter Beatrice in 2012.

HOWARD'S FAMILY HOME IN GREENWICH

Growing up, Howard lived in a coastal gated community in Greenwich, Connecticut. Her family home was known for having animals such as horses, chickens, and IIamas held in captivity. She described the surroundings in an interview with Hartford Courant in December 2009:

"It's sort of this farm in this gated community, and often animals will break out of the farm and run around. A guy in a Ferrari could be driving around, and a donkey will walk in the middle of the road. We're like the Beverly Hillbillies of Connecticut."

Though her famous dad, Ron, had reservations about the environment, she remained drawn to it even as an adult and went there several times a year. "I feel very connected to the kind of life there. There's an elegance about Greenwich. I really enjoyed being raised there," said the California native.

HOWARD & GABEL'S PINK AND GREEN THEMED HOME

Howard now resides in Los Angeles with her spouse Gabel. The couple collaborated with her longtime friend Claire Thomas to create a home with a personal touch, paying tribute to life in film.

Together with their brood, Gabel and Howard uprooted to the four-bedroom, two-story newly built abode in LA after living in upstate New York for decades.

Thomas told Architectural Digest that she and Howard share a passion for old Hollywood storytelling and that when designing the couple's home, she "imagined them as characters on set."

Knowing them for a long time eased the process because she knows both their personalities well enough, which made the project thrilling to work on. Howard and Gabel went for many bright colors and dramatic flourishes depicting their favorite movies and TV shows.

When the duo worked on the home project, they collectively deemed their working style "organic glamor," consisting of vintage pieces, a mix of old Hollywood influences, and Californian vibes. Thomas explained that from the get-go, they knew what they wanted for the color palette:

"We immediately knew that the core color palette for the house was going to be pink and green. Most rooms are dominated by those shades."

Howard and Gabel went for a mint-toned kitchen island with pink cabinets matching the custom terrazzo breakfast table. They have a bubble-gum TV stand in their living room facing a U-shaped sofa in a darker rose tone.

The guest bedroom is painted in sage green and features wooden details on the wall, and a fuchsia dinosaur-printed wallpaper covers the powder room. They have a soaker tub in olive color set atop rosy Venetian flooring in the main bedroom. Thomas explained its positioning:

"Obviously, you don't want it to look like an Easter basket. So, we did it in a way that feels elevated and chic – yet so fun."

Her spouse revealed that the inspiration for the home study, his favorite room, came from the sci-fi hit movie franchise, "Star Trek: The New Generation." Gabel

he and his wife went for a "retro-futurism like a 1980s depiction of what the future would look like."

Such as "an amalgamation of Bow house and art deco with a neo-futuristic" feel, which Thomas was able to accomplish. He said it was "incredible." The Hollywood pair happen to be diehard fans of "Star Wars" and "Star Trek."

Their home's rear façade has a mural featuring two suns rising from the horizon, a homage to Luke Skywalker's fictional home planet Tatooine. There is a Baby Yoda garlic holder which stands over the kitchen.

Thomas also incorporated the duo's love for the blockbuster films in their bedroom, with curving lines around a chaise and an upholstered headboard. Howard recounted how she wanted to live on a Starship when growing up:

"I remember growing up being like, ‘I would love to live on the Starship Enterprise. There is softness to the futurism of [director] Gene Roddenberry’s world that feels so enticing."

Inspired by filmmaker and Japanese animator Hayao Miyakazi, the space features a mural-like wallpaper illustrating a starry woodland scene. Howard revealed that it reminded her of the magical forest setting in the movie "My Neighbor Totoro" by Miyakazi.

Their wooden dining table is placed in the center of the room under a beige rug and wooden floors. The room's ceilings are antique brass which reflects the light. "We love this room because it reminds us of the kind of magical world that we get to live in for our work," Howard explained.

Fast forward years later, they integrated a tulip theme fixture as an homage to the beginning of their relationship. In addition, there are other sentimental fixtures for Gabel and Howard, like a small canvas embroidered with her and her husband's nicknames from their kids.

Gabel and Howard's living room is spacious enough for their large U-shaped Joybird sofa positioned in front of their concrete coffee table. That is where the family has a lot of movie nights.

On the corner of the pink shaded room, the duo placed a lamp made by Jimmy Kimmel's daughter, Katie, who fused an Abyssinian cat onto the structure. The room also features a patterned rug and Everhem drapes.
