Nicolas Cage Loves 'Every Second' of Being a Grandpa — His Son Said He Is a 'Phenomenal' Babysitter

Nicolas Cage's son, Weston Cage, found life very difficult during his early 20s. In 2011 he made headlines after police arrested him twice for domestic abuse.

At the time, the 20-year-old was married to Nikki Williams. However, they ended their relationship soon after that incident. Weston got himself in trouble soon after when he got beaten up by his personal trainer in a bizarre incident.

The youngster, who endured a challenging childhood due to his parent's divorce, had turned to alcohol to fill the void. According to Weston, he drank 30 beers daily and sometimes added a box of wine and hard alcohol. Thankfully Weston was able to turn his life around when he met blonde beauty, Danielle.

The pair fell in love shortly after they met, and their relationship impacted his life positively. Two days before their 2013 wedding Weston's joy doubled when Danielle informed him she was pregnant. The news stunned everyone in their room, and they were very happy for the couple.

One person who was particularly excited for the couple was Weston's famous actor father, Nicolas. While speaking to US Magazine at the Kasem Cares Foundation fundraiser, Weston said:

"My dad is ecstatic."

On July 1, 2014, Weston and Danielle welcomed their son Lucian Augustus Coppola Cage at 3:14 p.m. Lucian Augustus, named after Weston's grandfather, became Nicolas' first grandchild. The actor, 50, was also raising another son, Kal-El, with his wife, Alice Kim, and could not wait to take on his new role as a grandpa.

NICOLAS CAGE EMBRACES HIS ROLE AS A GRANDFATHER

When Weston became a father, he was also working on finishing his solo album "Prehistoric Technology." Speaking about his new duty as a father, Weston disclosed that a lot of morals and philosophies he would be passing on to his son are what he learned from Nicolas.

Weston praised Nicolas' impact on his life as a father and also lauded the iconic actor for his skills as a grandfather. The singer disclosed:

"He was an amazing father to me. And how is he as a grandpa? Brilliant."

Meanwhile, Nicolas could not be more proud of his role as a grandfather. The actor, who is a softie regarding his family, loves every moment. While appearing at the premiere of his film "The Runner," the actor confessed:

"I love it [being a grandfather]. Every second."

Speaking about his favorite thing about the baby, Nicolas warmingly replied, "His Smile." Nicolas loves having his family around. He wants his family to be around him wherever he goes and would always be there to support his kids in everything they do.

Also present at the premiere, Weston lauded his father for being supportive, incredibly loving, intellectual, and down-to-earth. While answering questions about Nicolas' babysitting duties, Weston revealed that sometimes baby Lucian could be rowdy, so they all take turns holding him. However, Nicolas loves the child. Weston added:

"He's a phenomenal grandfather."

Two years after the birth of Lucian, Weston and Danielle welcomed another child, Sorin. The baby's birth made Nicolas a two-time grandpa. The singer announced the news on Facebook, accompanied by a picture of the adorable kid. Weston also gushed about Danielle and declared his joy at them becoming parents again.

WESTON AND DANIELLE'S MESSY DIVORCE

After the first years of marital bliss, Weston and Danielle surprisingly separated. Unfortunately, the divorce between the two was a bit messy, with Danielle getting a protective order against Weston. The singer had to stay at least 100 yards away from her during the proceedings unless it was a visitation with their kids.

After the breakup, Nicolas had to step in and help his son out financially. The actor stood in for his son by helping him pay for child support. The divorce was eventually finalized in 2018. Danielle was granted primary physical custody of the kids while Weston was allowed visitation.

Part of the settlement also included Weston paying $8,000 in family support monthly which is half of the $16,000 he receives from his father monthly. The family support payment included helping Danielle and the kids with car payments and health insurance.

WESTON FINDS LOVE AGAIN

The same year he finalized his divorce, Weston got married for the third time. On April 28, 2018, he tied the knot with his fiancée Hila Aronian. The rocker meets boho-themed wedding ceremony at Canyon County, California state had in attendance almost all the family members except Nicolas.

According to sources, Nicolas had to go overseas to shoot a movie at the very last minute. He was, however, happy for the new couple. Acoustic singer and guitarist Jennifer Lynn Simpson treated guests to lovely music while they sipped cocktails and watched as the ceremony unfolded.

Weston's mother walked him down the aisle. She also lauded her son for being the most romantic man in the world and wishing him a happy marriage.

WESTON BECOMES FATHER TO TWINS

Two years after their marriage, Weston and Hila welcomed twin daughters, making Nicolas a grandfather of four adorable kids. According to a source, the iconic actor was reportedly delighted at the news.

"This is a very happy time for Nic and the whole family."

Hila shared the happy news on Facebook and a picture of her adorable newborns; Cyress Zara and Venice Zohar Cage Coppola. According to the new mother, her identical daughters arrived on April 8, 2020, very healthy and already acting like two-month-olds.

The birth of Cyress and Venice made Weston a dad of four with Lucian and Sorin. Weston and Hila also look to have a joyful marriage, and the former frequently gushes about her husband.

During his birthday in December 2019, she praised him for making her feel special and how he is always on her mind. Meanwhile, Nicolas is also expecting a baby with his new beau Riko Shibata.

According to their representative, the couple is expecting their first baby together. The actor and Riko's baby would be his third child after Weston and Kal-El. The pair tied the knot on February 16, 2021.
