Maria was a German orphan born on August 1, 1961. The details of her adoption are scarce, but Taylor began the process when she was still married to singer and actor Eddie Fisher.
Unfortunately, Taylor and Fisher's marriage was short-lived, and they divorced in 1964, only five years after saying, "I do." The "A Place in the Sun" actress was already close to adding Maria into her family when they parted ways.

Steve and Maria had one daughter, Elizabeth "Eliza" Carson, in 1982. Eliza and Taylor had a beautiful relationship, with the "Butterfield 8" actress even doing her granddaughter's hair and makeup for her junior and senior proms.
One of Eliza and Taylor's most memorable things they did was going to a Sephora store. They had a blast for the first 15 minutes, but after people started recognizing Taylor, they needed to be escorted out.
