At some point, everyone wishes to find someone special with whom they can happily share their life. However, finding the right partner isn't always an easy task. Some people look for a lover who will also be their friend, while others might have to wait a little longer to figure out who is meant for them.

A love match is one where people's hearts and souls are connected, and their thoughts and feelings are on the same wavelength. But do you think that's how the world sees every couple? Sadly, many people are subjected to negative remarks solely on their choice to love each other.

FALLING IN LOVE

Sienna Keera and George Keywood have been together since 2018, although they're not from the same country. In 2019, Keera, from Australia, traveled all the way to the U.K. to be with Keywood, whom she spotted on the BBC Three mockumentary comedy show "People Just Do Nothing."

But eventually, the couple made the monumental decision to prove the trolls wrong and eternalize their love.

The duo first connected on Instagram, and after talking to Keywood for some time, Keera said she realized he was "the one" for her. The couple hit it off well, and after a year and a half of being together, they decided to put a ring on their love.

"We were both creative, we were both determined in wanting to succeed in life and we just got on with it. We kind of clicked straight away, and we got on and that chemistry was already there before we even met in real life."

SHARING THEIR LOVE ONLINE

At the start of the lockdown period, the couple said they downloaded TikTok and began sharing their relationship online. Little did they know that their decision to do so would invite unwanted attention.

The couple, who are parents to a toddler son, Oliver, was said to have received a slew of negative comments online. The duo shared that their relationship was criticized because Keywood was obese, and trolls claimed that Keera was only after his money.

FAMILY'S SUPPORT

As the backlash intensified, so did the couple's love for each other. Initially, Keera's parents, Judith and Geoffrey, had doubts about her relationship with Keywood, but eventually, they came around and supported their daughter.

Judith said she became convinced Keywood was the right man for her girl when she met him and saw how happy they were together. She also appreciated Keywood's self-confidence. Meanwhile, Geoffrey expressed:

"When he turned out to be hilarious and a lovely bloke and really smart, that really sold us."

FACING BACKLASH

As the love birds continued to go strong in their relationship, the hate comments kept coming in. Keera recalled how people called her a "gold digger" and said she was waiting for Keywood to die and for the life insurance to pay out, which deeply hurt her.

Keywood also recounted how people told him he would die soon or pass away from a heart attack and that his fiancée was only with him because he was rich. The more the couple shared their life online, the more they were criticized.

TYING THE KNOT

But eventually, the couple made the monumental decision to prove the trolls wrong and eternalize their love. Keera and Keywood decided to marry, and Judith and Geoffrey traveled to the U.K. to bless them on their big day.

In a small and intimate ceremony surrounded by their family and little son, Oliver, the couple said their vows and sealed their union with a warm kiss. Keera and Keywood became husband and wife in May 2022 and are delighted with their decision. Keera mentioned:

“So now that we're married I really feel like we're proving the trolls wrong. Everyone said that I'm a gold digger and in it for money, well actually I'm in it for life."

THE CRITICISM INCREASED

As was expected, the hate comments increased after the couple married, with one commenter telling the couple, "I think it's called marrying for money." The newlyweds responded perfectly to the commenter, with Keywood saying, "I think it's called marrying for love."

Another commenter wondered if Keera would still stay with her husband if he went broke. Initially, Keera jokingly said there was no way she would do that, but she quickly replied, "Obviously, I would." Keywood called the question "silly."

In another video, the couple shared a comment that read, "how can you go [to] bed with that he [makes] me sick." Keera orchestrated a poetic response for the commenter and began, "Well, I'm not ill. I sure have a cold, but like that's it."

In the background, Keywood called all those people who mocked his relationship with Keera "ridiculous." Keera then added, "You're sick in the mind." The clip was posted in June 2022 and has racked up over 147,000 reactions to date.

NOTHING BUT LOVE

Even though Keera and Keywood have nothing but love for each other, the internet trolls are anything but convinced, and the couple still receives severe backlash. Even after being married, Keera said people continued to tell her that her husband didn't deserve her.

Throughout their relationship, the duo has been mocked for being together because of the difference in their weight. However, Keera and Keywood's affection and devotion for each other prove that love comes in all shapes and sizes.

QUESTIONS TO PONDER:

1. Do you think someone's relationship should be judged based on weight or looks?

The real beauty lies skin deep. Over time, looks and physical appearance tend to lose their charm; the only thing that lasts is how we feel about someone. Keera and Keywood may have stark differences in weight, but if they say they love each other, people shouldn't bother them.

2. Is it justified to mock people for who they choose to marry or love?

Everyone's entitled to their opinion and choices. We should try not to cause unnecessary pain for others, even if we disagree with them. Keera and Keywood may be going strong in their relationship, but they're humans, and even they felt hurt when people subjected them to mean remarks.

Please share this story with all those who equate love with someone's physical appearance and weight. We look forward to hearing your thoughts and comments on Facebook.
