Jason Aldean's Wife Judged for Dating Him — He Defended Her 2 Years after He Apologized for Kissing Her

James Aldean and his high school sweetheart Jessica looked inseparable after more than a decade of marriage and two kids. However, the musician took a step that shook the foundations of their marriage.

Jason Aldean met Jessica Ussery while they were high school students at Georgia's Windsor Academy. Afterward, the two youngsters started dating.

The high school sweethearts held on to each other for the years that followed, eventually leading to their marriage. They expanded their family when Jessica gave birth to the couple's first child, daughter Keeley in 2003. They welcomed a second child, daughter Kendyl in 2007.

Although Jessica met Jason while they were still in high school, the latter had grown into a recognized country singer. In addition to her wife and mother duties, Jessica handled all of her husband's finances and business matters.

Speaking to The Boot in 2011, Jason noted he is the one who wants to play music and meet his fans, while his wife Jessica is the one who picks up the phone and makes business calls.

The couple looked like they had everything sorted out. They were married for several years without any publicized rift. But, sadly, that changed.

APOLOGIES FOR JASON'S "EMBARRASSING" ACCIDENTAL KISS

In September 2012, Jason's marriage to Jessica came under the spotlight when pictures of him being unfaithful surfaced online. In pictures obtained by TMZ, the country musician was seen getting cozy with another woman, not his wife.

The lady in question was later identified as "America's Got Talent" Season 11 contender Brittany Kerr. Jason and Brittany sitting at a bar on the Sunset Strip called "The Den," were pictured hugging, touching, and getting flirty with one another.

However, the musician eventually left Brittany in the bar while he headed somewhere in a cab. Weeks after the shocking incident, Jason took to his Facebook page to issue a statement about his pictures in the papers.

The musician declared that he screwed up because he had too much to drink and allowed the party to get out of hand, resulting in him acting inappropriately. Jason also noted he left the bar alone and headed for his tour bus to make his way to the next show. The musician confessed:

"I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself."

Jason declared he was sorry for disappointing everyone and noted that he was not perfect. Brittany followed up on Jason's post with an apology of her own. She revealed everything that happened that night as a lapse in judgment.

The former American Idol Contestant disclosed her actions that night were not a representation of her true character. She admitted:

"I would like to sincerely apologize to everyone that has been affected by this…"

JASON'S ATTEMPTS TO SAVE HIS FAMILY WITH JESSICA

Jason's transgressions at the club placed his marriage to Jessica in danger, and the musician subsequently owned up to his mistakes.

Speaking to CMT after the incident, the musician explained that he couldn't hide from what he had done, and his only choice was to get up and face it. Still, he noted that the whole issue had been a personal embarrassment.

Jason revealed he knew different people would have come up with their varying opinions about what happened. Still, people who knew him and his character are those standing by and supporting his family.

The star used the opportunity to thank those showing him support and noted that the important thing to him is family, and he wants his family to be okay.

Jason also revealed the media attention made the issue worse, but he addressed that with a statement and was dealing with the rest privately. Sadly the musician's marriage to Jessica lasted just a year after his misdeeds before he filed for divorce.

Jason cited irreconcilable differences in the divorce papers he filed. Afterward, he released a statement noting Jessica's importance to him and how they would try to make their children their priority.

AN ACCIDENTAL KISS TURNED INTO CONDEMNED LOVE

After Jason divorced Jessica, the musician surprisingly started dating Brittany, the same lady who he was pictured kissing, which he later apologized for and called a one-time mistake.

Just a year after his divorce, the musician started dating Brittany, and although the duo kept their relationship very private, she was seen at one of his concerts.

However, on August 10, 2014, Jason thought it was the right time to make their relationship Instagram official, and he posted a picture of the duo holding a dog.

Sadly this move backfired as fans loaded the comment section with abuse towards the couple. They accused Brittany of breaking up his marriage.

After seeing the adverse reactions to his post, Jason decided to defend his new beau and their relationship. He posted another image explaining to fans they only know his name, not what he has been through. Jason also stated:

"I have made mistakes but I am a better person."

JASON AND HIS EX-MISTRESS MARRIED UNDER THE PRESSURE OF HATE

Just two years after his divorce and a couple of months after going Instagram official, Jason proposed to Brittany. According to reports, the musician had popped the question while he and Brittany were on a trip to San Diego Zoo.

Six months later, Jason and Brittany exchanged marital vows in a wedding ceremony in Mexico just after he concluded his "Burn It Down" tour.

At the ceremony, Brittany dazzled in a long-sleeve lace gown with a low back while Jason donned a casual tan shirt. Shortly after his wedding to Brittany, Jason won the award for male vocalist of the year at the Academy of Country Music's Award Ceremony.

Speaking about his new wife to People, Jason revealed their relationship has been good, although they had spent most of their time on the road. He disclosed that Brittany kept him more focused and grounded, which he needed.

While appearing at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, Jason revealed he and Brittany were already thinking of having kids. Jason also touched on how they have managed to find time for each other due to his tight schedule. He noted:

"I feel like our life is a honeymoon."

Sadly even after their marriage, Jason and Brittany still received criticism from fans. However, he told reporters that although most people call him a cheater, he would not waste time thinking about it.

The musician also noted that people are very opinionated, and he was not ready to spend all his time defending his actions.

HAPPY BLENDED FAMILY OF SIX

Two years after their marriage, Jason and Brittany announced they were expecting a child. In her Instagram post, Brittany explained that the couple had been through a rollercoaster and could not wait to meet their baby.

At the gender reveal party, the couple declared they were having a boy. The child would become Jason's third and Brittany's first. The couple finally welcomed their son Memphis in 2018 and announced they were expecting another child just seven months later.
