Jodie Sweetin Marries 'Right Partner' after 'Roller Coaster' Relationship with Ex Who Ended Up in Prison
"Full House" star Jodie Sweetin had a tough time with her ex-fiance, who ended up in jail after their showdown. Fortunately, that same year, Jodie met therapist Mescal Wasilewski, who is now her husband.
In 2015, actress Jodie Sweetin started dating Justine Hodak. The pair were in a happy relationship and got engaged in 2016.
Sweetin flaunted her diamond engagement ring at the time as she prepared for her fourth wedding. She had been married three times before then.

Hodak met the TV star more than ten years ago when he worked as an admissions director at a rehab clinic. He revealed to the Daily Mail in June 2017 that he first saw the former child star in 2013 while standing with a friend on Melrose and Robertson. Hoda courted Sweetin, and they began seeing each other. He reflected on their time together:
"People used to say that Jodie and I were perfect for each other – we never judged each other, we both had a bit of a past, we used to finish each other's sentences, we both had the same sense of humor."
The couple took their relationship to the next level when they moved in together in Van Nuys, Los Angeles, where they resided with Sweetin's two daughters, Beatrix and Zoie. Hodak also had a daughter from a previous relationship named Tatum.

After two years of dating, the fitness fanatic proposed to Sweetin in January 2016, People reported. A rep for the TV personality revealed that the lovebirds were over the moon at the time, saying, "We can confirm that Jodie Sweetin got engaged to Justin Hodak, and they are both thrilled."
Sweetin confirmed the engagement news on her Instagram by posting her diamond engagement ring and praising her then-fiance for his choice:
"So, it looks like the cat's out of the bag! Haha! I'm so happy, and he did a GREAT job with the ring! Good taste, @justinhodak_I love you!!"
Unfortunately, that excitement was short-lived when the "Fuller House" alum unexpectedly broke off the engagement a year later in March 2017.
Hodak and the California native had been together for three years before splitting for reasons unknown, E! News reported.

Merely days after their split, things went into a downward spiral between the former couple. Hodak went through a roller coaster following his breakup with Sweetin as he was arrested thrice during nine days.
He consistently violated the restraining order that his ex-girlfriend filed against him. Sweetin revealed that when she and her former longtime boyfriend ended their relationship, they got into a quarrel.
In April 2017, the "Hollywood Darlings" star's security also disclosed that Hodak attempted to access her property.
The police told TMZ that he drove by Sweetin's home but was scared off by her security guards, who informed law enforcement officers. However, when they showed up at the house, Hodak was long gone by then.
He was also ordered to avoid selling, releasing, or publicizing all photos or videos of Sweetin after he threatened to leak them.
After finally being able to restrict Hodak from taking control over her life, Sweetin posted a message on social media, thanking people who reached out to her amid the chaos and penned:
"It's definitely been a roller coaster, but with an amazing family, friends, and fans. I'll be just fine!"
HODAK IS NOW A MAN WITH DEEP REGRET

Meanwhile, her former lover explained his outraged behavior in an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail months later. Hodak blamed his "roid rage" for losing his temper while arguing with Sweetin, where he tipped a bookcase shelf sending it to the floor at their home.
Though he admitted to feeling regretful about the incident, Hodak claimed that Sweetin "set" him up after their heated exchange over a French Bulldog escalated into physical violence:
"Looking back, I feel terrible for what happened. It went too far. I'm super remorseful. I just don't know where it all came from, but there was no domestic violence. I would never hurt Jodie. I just feel set up."

Hodak stated that the altercation could have been easily avoided because now they are not on speaking terms over a dog they never got. "None of it makes sense," he said.
Despite being remorseful, Hodak still received his punishment. A judge handed him a suspended six-year jail sentence. Eight months in jail and was ordered to serve 120 days in LA County jail.
In addition, Hodak was required to complete a 52-week domestic violence course and had to keep his distance from Sweetin for five years as part of the plea deal.
AFTER THE DRAMA WITH HODAK – SWEETIN FOUND LOVE AGAIN
After such a difficult period in her life with her relationship with Hodak, Sweetin fell in love again. The same year her ex got sent to prison, the mother of two started dating a Primary Therapist, per his LinkedIn profile, Mescal Wasilewski, who made her happy again.
Sweetin confirmed the new relationship on Instagram a year later on Valentine's Day. She wrote a lengthy post, gushing about her new love alongside a collage of the couple holding hands and kissing.
In September 2021, Sweetin shared a post of appreciation to Wasilewski on social media, writing that despite the long distance between, she decided to give their romance a chance to blossom:
"You showed me love and compassion and friendship through it all. I can't imagine a better partner, and I spend all the days grateful you chose me."
In January 2022, Wasilewski asked for Sweetin's hand in marriage near the waterfall, only two days before her 40th birthday.
The "Love Under the Rainbow" star posted a selfie of her and her new fiance and flaunted her engagement ring as she beamed. "I love you, Mescal, for always. You're my person. I can't wait to see the life that lies ahead for us," she wrote.
Sweetin told Entertainment Tonight in February 2022 that Wasilewski is the right man for her because they get along well while calling him her "best friend." The couple loves traveling and has more things in common.
Moreover, Sweetin is "finally at peace" in her life and admitted she had never been with somebody who fully "accepted me 100 percent." She and Wasilewski lived together amid the ongoing pandemic with her kids.
Sweet described her love as a "kind and wonderful" person who lets her be and is supportive of her. Her children and parents also love Wasilewski, whom he asked permission before popping the big question.
SWEETIN & WASILEWSKI WALKED DOWN THE AISLE
On July 30, 2022, Sweetin and Wasilewski tied the knot after five years together in an intimate ceremony held at a private home in Malibu, California.
The bride - whose daughters, including "Full House" castmates such as Candace Cameron Bure and John Stamos, attended the wedding – said she knows Wasilewski is the 'one' for her:
"I know I have the right partner for the rest of whatever life brings me. And I couldn't be more grateful."
The said groom donned a tuxedo from Generation Tux on the couple's big day, and the bride wore a lace gown designed by Lili Bridals.
In terms of décor, Sweetin used Offerings. Co. for floral arrangements, consisting of real fruit and vegetables as edibles.
Sweetin revealed that she looked forward to seeing her husband-to-be walking down the aisle, who teared up when he saw her from the altar.
The "Yes, Dear" star shared that her beloved pal Sara Landon was the brains behind her special day with Wasilewski. Landon owns a wedding planning business in New York, and the bride said it was her "wedding gift" for planning the event.
Sweetin and Wasilewski opted not to have a bridal party for their wedding, which the groom's brother officiated. The first dress Sweetin tried on; she chose for her special day though the garment needed little tweaks here and there. Her bridesmaids wore blue dresses for the wedding.
The newlyweds penned their wedding vows and had their rings designed by Kay Jewelers. When speaking about her love for her husband, Sweetin said, "He's the best teammate I could ask for."
