Smiling Ben Affleck Reunites with Jennifer Garner & Son after Honeymoon with JLo & Fans Jump to His Defense

After actor Ben Affleck and "Marry Me" actress Jennifer Lopez returned from their honeymoon in the city of love, Affleck reunited with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner during a pool outing with their son, Samuel. Some fans found the reunion bizarre, while others jumped to the actor's defense.

Actor Ben Affleck is back from Paris, where he has been on his honeymoon for the last few weeks. The actor married his new wife, actress Jeniffer Lopez in a quiet wedding 20 years in the making.

They had their secret wedding in Las Vegas before jetting to the city of love, Paris, for their post-nuptial vacation with their kids — Affleck's daughters Violet and Seraphina, with Jennifer Garner, and Lopez's twins, Max, and Emme, with "When I Dream At Night" singer Marc Anthony.

The newlyweds first dated between 2002 and 2004 before calling off their 400-guest wedding ceremony in September 2003 due to "excessive media attention." However, love seemed to conquer all as they rekindled their romance decades later.

They got married on July 17, 2022, at A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada, after Lopez used the break room to change into her Zuhair Murad gown.

On the other hand, Affleck got ready to say his vows in the graffitied men's room. According to Us Weekly, Lopez shared the details in her "On the JLo" newsletter only hours later, saying:

"We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient. [The wedding was] exactly what we wanted."

The lovebirds flew off to Paris a few days after their secret midnight wedding. They enjoyed visiting the Musée de l'Orangerie art gallery, Sephora beauty store, Micromania, a video game company, and an art supply store called Sennelier.

They could not keep their hands off each other as they enjoyed the breathtaking sights from a vintage yacht and were later snapped relaxing on the Seine River.

During the trip, the family also celebrated Lopez's 53rd birthday. Her new husband treated her to a shopping spree at Dior and then dinner at Girafe restaurant near the Eiffel Tower.

Affleck appeared to let his emotions take over during their romantic dinner, and his new wife was spotted comforting him. A source told Us Weekly that the pair plans on throwing a big bash for their family and friends once they settle back:

"Jen and Ben want to celebrate their love with a bigger ceremony for friends and family. There is still a plan of a celebration coming this year."

REUNITING WITH HIS EX

Shortly after his return to the States, "The Way Back" actor linked up with his ex-wife, "Catch Me If You Can" actress Jeniffer Garner, as they accompanied their son to the pool.

In a video that has since garnered numerous reactions from fans, Affleck looked casual in a flannel shirt, blue jeans, and white converse shoes, while Garner wore a grey T-shirt and a baseball cap with a towel wrapped around her torso.

The reunion aroused many comments from fans, praising Affleck for being a present father in his children's lives. One user named Ed Soliman wrote:

"Ben is a very loving father. What more can I say?"

Others shared their opinion on what kind of father Affleck was, with Bootsie Keegan writing, "Ben's number one importance [is] his three children, no matter what!"

User Debbie Flores noted how many Hollywood fathers were never present for their kids and commended Affleck for taking the time out for his son's fun activities. She also praised Garner for being an equally good mom to their kids.

RoseAnna, another user, wondered why the reunion caused a frenzy. She noted that it seemed odd that Garner had left the pool area before Affleck picked their son and wondered why people who shared kids could not be allowed to be friends without so much attention directed at them.

Another commenter asked Affleck to take care of himself, while someone else noted that the actor seemed to glow, writing that it was due to the "JLO effect."

Despite the hounding paparazzi, the actor seemed in good spirits and was smiling the whole time as he led his son to the car and drove off. He did not look fazed as one of the spectators welcomed him back from his honeymoon.

THEIR KIDS ARE THEIR FIRST PRIORITY

The "Peppermint" actress and the "Changing Lanes" actor finalized their divorce in November 2018 but have often been spotted together on outings with their kids.

In October 2018, a month before the finalization of their divorce, the Hollywood stars arrived together at the Dodgers Stadium accompanied by their three children, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel, for the World Series game in Los Angeles.

Affleck, a Boston native, donned a blue baseball hat with a giant letter "B" embroidered at the front in support of his home team, the Red Sox. Even though they came in together, Affleck and Garner were seated separately on the suite level of Los Angeles' Dodger Stadium.

The event also saw the attendance of some Hollywood bigwigs, including Rob Lowe, Terry Crews, Lady Gaga, and Jason Bateman, among many others.

In January 2019, the pair reunited again for a church outing with their children. The "Daredevil" star donned a denim button-down shirt paired with a navy blue cardigan and khaki slacks, while Garner wore a striped navy-and-white top with a navy skirt and matching heels.

The "Daddy" actor and his ex-wife have maintained a close relationship for their kids' sake but also greatly respect each other. An insider told US Weekly in 2018:

"Ben and Jen have immense love and respect for one another. They still co-parent together, and that will always come first."

Another source revealed that Affleck and Garner, who met in the summer of 2001 and married four years later, have their challenges co-parenting no matter how amicable their relationship appears.

However, they always choose to keep their differences to themselves and ensure their kids come first. "They stay on top of things and have a lot of meetings and check-ins. They have to be the best parents they can be for their kids." A source disclosed.
