GEORGE LOPEZ'S DAUGHTER - MAYAN LOPEZ
Mayan is George's only daughter, but other than that, not much is known about the young actress. The acclaimed comedian's daughter was born on April 2, 1996.
Mayan's upbringing in a household with a father as a famous entertainer bodes well for her future in show business. In 2007, she played the role of Jackie in the episodes "George Rocks to the Max" and "Gets Diss-Band-ed" in her dad's iconic sitcom.
Mayan became famous after appearing on her father's comedy show, and she found more opportunities in the industry. She appeared in more films and TV programs, including "Mr. Troop Mom" (2009) and the "TIMI Hollywood" series (2012).
She also starred in movies such as "Handsome: A Netflix Mystery Movie" (2017), "Kill Her! Mata La!" (2018), and "Jersey" (2020). She not only acted but also made people laugh in an episode of the game show "Celebrity Family Feud" in 2017.
Mayan remains humble in her career, a positive attitude George instilled in her. He stated that just because they are famous or wealthy does not mean she is spoiled.
Throughout his career, George has used the stage numerous times to make fun of children and their parents. He once gave more context about how Mexican parents raise their children.
He told the audience that they instill a sense of resilience in children so they won't grow up as spoiled adults. Furthermore, Mexican parents like him instill values in their children in an "old school" fashion.
WHO IS HER DAD GEORGE LOPEZ?
George was born on April 23, 1961, in Los Angeles, California, and is of Mexican descent. After his parents abandoned him as a child, his grandmother Benita Gutirrez raised and cared for him until he reached adulthood.
He married Ann Serrano in 1993; however, the couple's marriage would later show signs of difficulties. His wife filed for divorce in 2010, citing irreconcilable differences for their breakup. They finalized their split in 2011.
Even though they are no longer married, Ann supported the Mexican comedian during difficult times. She donated to him one of her kidneys when his genetic disorder caused him to suffer kidney failure in 2005.
The former couple appears to have maintained a friendly relationship since that act of generosity. Both have also remained supportive of each other's accomplishments.
George has built a reputation in TV, films, and stand-up comedy. His career rocketed to stardom thanks to his critically acclaimed ABC sitcom and his roles in several children's movies.
He is iconic for his 2002 sitcom "George Lopez," which spanned over six seasons on ABC. He also had four HBO specials and a comedy concert titled "Why You Crying?"
In his comedy routines, he often addresses issues of race and ethnicity, as well as Mexican-American heritage and culture. He also earned Grammy nominations in 2004 and 2006 in the best comedy album category.
In 2015, he directed the film "Spare Parts," based on the true story of four Mexican-American teens in Phoenix who were living in the shadows due to a lack of proper documentation.
George's efforts to place Mexican culture more prominently on the map earned him various recognitions, particularly within the Latino community. He is included in Time magazine's "Top 25 Hispanics in America."

Debby Wolfe is the writer of the latest series, and the showrunner is Bruce Helford. Debby, a writer of Salvadoran and American descent, came up with the concept of having two Lopezes appear on the exciting show.
The series marks George's return to the screen after his self-titled show ended in 2007.
Bruce was the one who first put Debby in contact with George and Mayan. Since the showrunner was also the creator of the popular show "George Lopez," it was not difficult to establish rapport with either of the actors.
Mayan will serve as the series producer, while George, Helford, and Wolfe will be the executive producers. Michael Rotenberg and Katie Newman from the 3 Arts production company join the executive producing team.
The 3 Arts production company, Travieso Productions, and Mi Vida Loba are all part of Helford's Mohawk Productions. Universal Television, a part of the Universal Studio Group, runs the studio where the series will take place.
The series marks George's return to the screen after his self-titled show ended in 2007. However, the show was broadcasted on other networks, such as Nick at Nite and the Spanish-language version of MTV Tres, stylized as "Tr3s."
Following the show's phenomenal success that bore his name, George went on to star in various other TV shows, such as "Saint George" and "Lopez." He has also hosted a late-night show on TBS.
