Jose Aldo's wife, Vivianne Aldo, gave birth to their second child after ten years of trying. She is also an athlete in a similar craft and met her husband through the sport.

Jose Aldo is making significant changes in his life, including the announcement of his retirement from the Ultimate Fighting Championship organization.

The mixed martial artist's team informed ESPN of the end of his UFC contract and had his name removed from the UFC's external official rankings.

While his retirement is a life-changing decision for Jose, he made another important news relating to his personal life. On September 18, 2022, Jose welcomed his son, Jose Aldo III. He wrote in an Instagram post:

"It feels like the first time, and we're here with open arms to give you all the love in the world. So beautiful and so small, capable of awakening the greatest feeling: LOVE. And here we are diving in a sea of immeasurable Love!"

Jose shares his son with Vivianne Aldo, the mother of his other child and his wife of over 15 years. Vivianne is also a martial artist.

Sports Connected Vivianne Aldo and José Aldo

Vivianne holds a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu alongside two professional Muay Thai fights. Her expertise in the craft was verified by her husband, who claimed she could easily beat professional wrestler Ronda Rousey.

As an athlete, physical activity plays a significant role in Vivianne's lifestyle, which is why it was no surprise that she was still exercising at seven months pregnant. She previously wrote in an Instagram post:

"Everything is possible as long as you dedicate your time, your body and your mind. I am 7 months pregnant and I practice what I like within my limitations. Look for good professionals!"

Besides her athletic career, Vivianne also had her time on screen in the "UFC Embedded: Vlog Series" and is a loving mom and wife.

When she moved from Curitiba to Rio, Vivianne met Jose at a gym. They dated soon after while he was still living in the favela. When she found out about his living situation, Vivianne asked Jose to live with her. However, her father did not accept him in their home unless they were married.

In 2005, Vivianne and Jose tied the knot. Before having his own family, Jose saw his father drink excessively until his parents' divorce. Then 14 years old, he promised he would never drink or hurt his wife – a promise he has since kept.

Vivianne Aldo Had Her Second Child at Age 41

It took years before the couple welcomed their first child in 2012, a daughter named Joanna. After four years, they began thinking about having another child, but conceiving was not an easy feat.

Vivianne turned to several medical procedures to help, including ovulation injections, insemination, and freezing of her eggs. Although she got pregnant twice, she, unfortunately, suffered miscarriages. It wasn't until ten years later that she and her husband welcomed another child at age 41.

"With the heart carrying anxiety and very happy, we find out we're having a BOY! This is exactly what you brought into our lives from the moment we knew you were on your way our boy," she shared on Instagram.

While happy to have another child, Vivianne admitted that pregnancy at over 40 was not easy. She had to endure many changes, but knowing she was having a boy, her first son, made everything worthwhile.

Vivianne Aldo Supports Her Husband

Besides caring for her kids, Vivianne also supports her husband's career. Admittedly, she does not see her husband and rarely messages him during fight weeks. It is due to the rigorous preparations Jose has to endure, and she does not want to interfere.

"My family, they're my foundation and have always given me strength," Jose said. "My wife, my daughter, they help me keep working hard."

Jose's life was dedicated to fighting before Vivianne came into the picture. Things have since changed, and Jose doesn't know if he would have succeeded in the craft without his wife.

Other martial artists, including Conor McGregor, have balanced their careers and family. The fighter is a proud father-of-three with his partner, Dee Delvin.
