Georgia Boy Found Dead Minutes from His Home after Being Missing for 2 Days: 'He Didn't Deserve That'

One mother and son were inseparable and had a special bond. The youngster even took his mom, the queen in his life, to a school dance. He probably believed they had many happy years together, but sadly, it wasn't meant to be.

A mother from Lithonia, Georgia, was blessed with a loving son, and the pair's relationship was one-of-a-kind. While life wasn't always easy for them, they always had each other's backs.

The sweet boy showed signs of maturity and gentlemanliness when he invited his mother to his fifth-grade dance for a touching reason. Everyone knew the youngster would grow into a wonderful man, but they never got the chance to see it become a reality.

He Was a Special Boy

Jamiren Crosby was a straight-A student with a bright future ahead of him. His mother, Chanell Crosby, described him as an "outgoing," "courageous," and "talented" person.

The mother couldn't wait to see how her son's life would unfold, and she had high hopes for him. She never imagined a tragedy was waiting around the corner.

The eighth-grader attended the DeKalb Alternative School and also joined the football team. There were no limits to the success that awaited Jamiren, and his mother was proud of him every step of the way.

He Took His Mother to Prom

Chanell recalled a special memory that displayed her boy's true nature. With a bouquet in his hand, he asked his mom to accompany him to his fifth-grade prom. She said:

"I never wore a prom dress until I went with him ... I remember everything about that night. We danced the whole time."

Chanell did not finish high school and consequently encouraged her son to perform and excel in every opportunity that came his way.

She told Jamiren that education was necessary, and he took her words to heart. Chanell shared: "It was hard work with Jamiren, but I was always going to push him to make sure he got the best out of the world."

The Unexpected Tragedy

The mother couldn't wait to see how her son's life would unfold, and she had high hopes for him. She never imagined a tragedy was waiting around the corner.

On September 17, 2022, Jamiren left home with a group of new friends. It seemed like an ordinary Saturday, but life was about to change forever for the family.

He was a good person, and his mother did her best to keep him out of harm's way. Family member Brittanie Malone shared that about 25 people started looking for Jamiren when he didn't return home. Sadly, something shocking happened.

They Struggled to Come to Terms with It

The youngster was found dead a few minutes from home. Malone was heartbroken after receiving news of Jamiren's passing, and she stated: "He didn't deserve that."

His mom also struggled to make sense of the devastating news and couldn't understand why someone would hurt him. She said:

"It was senseless ... it could be envy or jealousy. He didn't know what he was getting himself into as a growing child."

The Mother's Message for Other Parents

The mother had a message for people, hoping her son's passing would not be in vain. Chanell expressed:

"Love your people because tomorrow is not promised. I just want everybody to know that this could [happen to anyone]."

"This is me, and I never [knew] that I would be standing here speaking about my son," the heartbroken woman continued.

Support for the Family

The family started a GoFundMe fundraiser to assist with funeral costs. On their page, they posted:

"We are in need of help with laying him to rest. Anything will help us out, and I show gratitude and appreciate any help that [you] can give us."

Many netizens offered condolences to the family and hoped for justice for the youngster taken too soon. People also shared that they were keeping the mother in their prayers:
