The singer's husband made her first birthday with him memorable by taking her on a trip to the Bahamas.
Olivia Newton-John may be gone, but memories of this spectacular woman will never be forgotten, especially not by her family. In August, after living with breast cancer for over thirty years, the 73-year-old passed away.
It was announced that she died peacefully on her California ranch, surrounded by family and friends. If she had been alive, she would have turned 74 on September 26.

Despite not being around to mark her most recent birthday, her family hosted a private memorial service to honor and celebrate the deceased. A spokesperson for the family shared that they decided to "keep the details of the event private".
The news of her death rocked the world as fans from every corner showered sympathy; however, it was hard to miss how shaken her husband, John Easterling, felt about his wife's demise.
Easterling has remained committed to their marriage since they shared wedding vows and has not been quiet in proclaiming his love for the singer.
A few days after he announced the heartbreaking news via an Instagram post, he uploaded a throwback image of the blonde beauty with one of her arms wrapped around him as they both smiled for the camera.
What followed this heart-melting snap was a lengthy note that declared how perfect their love was, Newton-John's devotion to changing the world, and sincere gratitude to fans for their immense support.
Easterling mentioned that they had true love that never needed to be worked on, which appeared as a "great mystery", as they accepted every experience.

He also praised his wife for being a healer and caring for people via her words, actions, and songs. To him, she never found her health struggles challenging; rather, the singer exhumed optimism, humor, and "the willpower to move things into the light".
Despite her death, Easterling feels whole and is encouraged as he continues to remember what their love means. He wrote:
"Even now, as her soul soars, the pain and holes in my heart are healed with the joy of her love."

Together, Newton-John and her husband made the most of her last years. She lived a fulfilled life backed by genuine love and never felt sad due to her illness. All thanks to her marriage with Easterling, which had been unlikely because she had not expected to find love at 60!
Newton-John's Former Romance before Easterling
Newton-John was beautiful, talented, and ageless. At 29, she starred alongside the energetic John Travolta in "Grease." The actress went on to sing, bagging Grammys, and later became a cancer advocate.
Before marrying Easterling, Newton-John was devastated due to the uncertainty that surrounded her ex-lover's disappearance. Also, she was about 60 and did not think she would fall in love.

Throughout her reigning days, she was only married once. Later, she found love with Patrick McDermott, but their relationship ended in 2005 after he was reported missing during a boat trip.
This was as shocking to his lover as it was to the world. However, years later, rumors had it that McDermott faked his death and was living in Mexico.
Newton-John never knew what happened to her ex-partner, and she confessed to being traumatized by the event.
Thankfully, she reunited with Easterling, a natural-health businessman four years her junior, while on a trip to the Amazon. They had been introduced by a friend fifteen years earlier but did not date.
In 2007, after meeting again, the duo dated for some time, but Newton-John was convinced that she would not fall in love with him, but it happened.
They made their relationship public that same year by attending a Broadway show. Subsequently, they attended other red-carpet events as a couple and even invited Travolta, the actress's long-time friend.
Indeed, Easterling loved and cherished his wife. He always wanted to make her smile and create unforgettable experiences with his better half.
Following her 74th birthday, the businessman took a trip down memory lane, recalling how they spent her first birthday as a couple.
He shared a lovey-dovey throwback snap and backed it up with an in-depth description of their first fairy trip. Easterling took his wife on a trip to the Out Islands in Bahamas Island.

It was an immaculate environment that embraced nature, and they rented a house that alienated them from the real world. The couple enjoyed this privacy, and one day, they decided to embrace a boat cruise to Great Guana Cay.
Unfortunately, the tides went high during their return, and the weather was turbulent. Newton-John rushed to seek protection behind her husband, who controlled the boat. Soon, the weather became clearer, dolphins played in the water, and a rainbow appeared. Easterling wrote:
"Olivia looked at me like I was a superhero, and I knew it was mostly blind faith and dumb luck."
The couple recognized a supernatural force behind their experience and lived their lives upholding this belief. In conclusion, he quipped, "every day with Olivia, there was a hint of magic, and every day, Olivia was a bit of the supernatural. "
Newton-John and Easterling Were a Perfect Match
Before marrying Easterling, Newton-John was devastated due to the uncertainty that surrounded her ex-lover's disappearance. Also, she was about 60 and did not think she would fall in love.

But despite her age, the couple went on to create an envious romance. In June 2008, after dating for a year, they eloped to Peru, where they wedded in an Incan spiritual ceremony hosted on a mountain peak.
Following their intimate wedding, they returned to the US to share their vows in front of family and friends.

Their legal union was held on Florida's Jupiter Island. Eight years after their wedding, the actress still expressed joy in meeting Easterling, who helped her move on. She said:
"I'm very lucky I have a wonderful, beautiful husband who is so loving and fantastic. I always tell my friends you're never too old to find love. I found the love of my life at 59, going on 60! I'm grateful."
The "Grease" star was lucky in many ways. Apart from finding love at an advanced age, she found a man who stuck with her through thick and thin.
In 1992, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, which resurfaced in 2017. It led to tour cancelations, but the illness did not truncate her joy.
Instead, the actress maintained her positivity in life and was backed by a husband who understood her. Newton-John admitted that recovery was never easy, even in her desperation to become well.

However, with Easterling's unwavering support and contributions, she stood firm and continued to perform her duties as a housewife. In her words:
"My husband hands me all these herbs every morning and makes me a green algae drink… Now, I'm getting up in the morning, feeding my cat and my dog and my husband…Just enjoying being a housewife."

Unfortunately, five years after her second diagnosis, she passed away, leaving her beloved husband and daughter Chloe Lattanzi, from her first marriage.
Easterling shared the news, asking for privacy as the family grieved. What Newton-John left behind was more than a memory.
The actress left a legacy through her works as an activist, singer, and actress; a healed husband who basks in the love they shared, and most of all, an inspiration to every woman!
